Wanted to do a small journal to help track my progress.
Male 6ft 41yrs 238pds
Starting with 1mg

Goals: be able to tie my shoes without losing my breath. I kid, i would love to get down to the 200 mark, don't want to deal with loose skin so not going to rush this show.

From what I've read we have people starting at .5 and slowly going up .5 a week and others that are jumping 2-4 when they titrate up. I think I'm going to stick with 1 until I plateau for a couple weeks then push it up .5-1 haven't decided yet how far to jump once I hit the stall.

Day 1 5/25 had my wife poke me in the love handle cause i'm a sissy with needles. Seemed to have some site pain and maybe some even into my back area. Could of been from working in the garage and yard. For sure had the burps and felt bloated that first day. Sleep was also rough the first day, second day was a little better. For sure eating less feel full sooner, not getting the urge to drink 3-4 mt dews a day. 1 per day since I started, still had a few peanut butter m&m's but only once each day. Have been able to cut back on carbs without trying too hard, burger patty with lettuce as a bun.

Congrats! I am a total newbie as well with a similar running thread much like a journal. I also wish i had started at 1mg like you are doing. I did .5mg to check tolerance on Saturday then .5mg more on Monday to get it up to 1mg-ish. Planning on 1mg this Saturday the 30th.

My thirst went up huge on reta, like 2+ gallons of water a day huge. I am about the same age as you, a few inches taller, but over a 100lbs heavier. Definitely like BNLFL said, electrolytes, and water water water. I also started taking 3-6g of fiber every morning and occasionally before dinner about a week before the first shot, and I am very glad I did.

Day 4 Effects already seem to be tapering off. More interested in food and drinking less water. Wanted that 2nd mt dew with dinner but resisted. Still getting full faster than without so its still having some benefit.
I haven't seen any posts mentioning it but does anyone have experience with Adderall and Reta? One of the wife's coworkers is on either triz or sema and Adderall. I have taken 15mg for years just curious

It’s not uncommon for people to split dose if the effects are tapering off noticeably for you. Something to think about.
Not always the favorite option of a needle-phobe (I get it)

yeah i'm going to keep it at 6 days for the first couple weeks. i used to take allergy shots twice weekly just couldnt look at it while they did it

Day 6 with the 6 day half life i'm going to do the 6 days and pin. Wife did the shot in the arm this morning(10 units or 1mg). Still felt like I ended up with some discomfort in the R lower back for a couple hours, so doesn't appear to of been because of the pin location. Believe this is where the kidney is located. Any reports of kidney discomfort? Nothing unbearable and didn't slow my day down just something i noticed. It's been 5 plus hours and starting to get a little headache which i also got with the first shot and a little fatigue. Stepped on the scale and i'm down 5 pounds so far 233.

Yesterday my ability to eat without feeling full quickly was much greater. Had eggs and sausage around 4 and then a meatball sub around 10. May of not ate in the morning don't recall now, probably just a coffee.

Did my 3rd round (1mg) Saturday evening (6 days) before bed and that seemed to cut down on what minor sides I had previously. Slept good that first night but the next night i couldnt get to sleep and woke up after a couple hours. For sure seems to be building in the system even at 1mg can't eat anywhere near as much as I had previously. Thinking less and less about junk food, pop and making better selections at the grocery store for the most part. Weighed this morning and was down to 229. My khaki's and black shorts I wear for work that were busting at the seams are no longer cutting off my circulation and i can clip my toenails with a little less discomfort.

The first three weeks are the hardest. Make sure you're taking your vitamins. Methylated B complex, trace mineral supplement, magnesium nightly, and electrolytes are the bare minimum

Because I am a crazy person, I will now send you the links for the products that I think are incredibly useful if not necessary to make sure that any side effects you encounter are not the result of poor nutrition rather than the reta.
  • https://a.co/d/09wqgsjj One pill in the evening after meal, titrate to two as stool softness allows. Increase fiber if possible, psillium husk (metamucil) is amazing.
  • https://a.co/d/07E78CCj Truth be told, you should be taking most of these individually. But some people aren't as big on vitamins as I am, so I offer this as a compromise. Take with or without food as tolerated.
  • https://a.co/d/08mqDPmk Take two every morning on an empty stomach.
These are the bare minimum. If you encounter side effects, and don't have these bases covered, I can't respect you. NOW Foods liquid fish oil and your favorite brand of psilium husk are also incredibly beneficial.

Back to the first three weeks...

Sleep disturbances will only get worse, for a while. But they will normalize over time. Make sure you aren't eating carbs before bed. After 5pm, be very careful about what you eat because you may be carrying it to bed with you. Carbs will worsen your sleep. Low fat cheese before bed, or casein protein powder, will help you to stay asleep and is a great lowfat lowcarb protein source. Casein is digested very slowly and will keep your body from waking you up due to insulin (carbs ran out) or cortisol (body thinks you're starving) spikes during the night.

You may encounter some skin sensitivity. An antihistamine might handle this if it's bad, but it shouldn't be bad. I also noticed a permanent slight increase to my olfactory senses.

Over the first few weeks, you may feel very tired, and spend time in bed, and you may even enjoy it because you're able to stop overeating for the first time in years. Don't get comfortable. It's time for you to come online and make sure you eat 3+ balanced meals a day with appropriate protein. It's time to start learning about TDEE and BMI and cardio zones. Don't waste your opportunity.

Reta will slightly increase your heartrate. This isn't an issue. If it ever becomes noticable or uncomfortable, you're likely experiencing an electrolyte imbalance and you need to get either more sodium, more potassium, or more magnesium. If you followed Daddy's instructions above, magnesium is a non-issue.

You need to start doing cardio. This will lower your blood pressure and keep everything moving while you become healthier.

Once you reach goal weight, then you can start injecting testosterone and pleasuring your wife four to six times a day.

Good luck on your journey!

P.S.
One last thing...

It is my opinion that injecting reta once a week is idiotic. Reta's appetite suppression wears off after 4-5 days. I inject every three days and I pity everyone who waits more than 5 days between injections. Anyone who tells you that this is bad information is wrong and should feel bad.

Starting weight, 236, current weight 207. 10 weeks. That's 3lbs a week which is a little unhealthy. Started at 0.5mg, went up by 0.5mg every 2 days until I hit 2.33mg per week (1mg every 3 days). Went up to 4.66mg/wk at week 5 (2mg every 3 days) and see no reason to increase dose further at this time. 27y/o male

I had sleep issues prior to taking this so it might just be my normal. Gummies or melatonin have been helping somewhat. But something about the sleep issues now feel a little different. The wife might kick me out of the house if I want to pleasure her more than 2 times a day lol. She has some mag so i just took that. Will get the others ordered, appreciate it. Never been a health nut, so need to probably study up on all the extras i should be taking. Was a gym rat in college but after that stopped going. Have always ate like crap. Losing even just 10pds sure makes you feel better

I'm not questioning you. This is just my way. We do one shot per week. The appetite suppression doesn't drop off in my opinion. 46lbs in 19 weeks. 2.4lb/week average.

just did my 2nd pin on sunday. 1mg.
i really cant tell if its working or not. i guess its a good sign that i dont fee any side effects.

I wasn't talking about you BNLFL! I meant people who aren't as cool as you. You're one of the good ones!

1mg isn't much of a dose. Try 1mg every 3 days 🙂

And one week isn't enough to really feel effects. I pinned four syringes of 0.5mg my first week and I didn't feel effects until the third pin.
