We have a choice: Help as many people as we can, and suffer the perceived "consequences" when one of those people turns out to not who we thought they were, or live in a constant state of paranoia and distrust and only help those we deem worthy. I've made my choice.
There will always be a boogeyman hiding around a corner waiting to pounce and ruin everything we cherish. Sometimes they're real, but most of the time they're creations of our own imagination. I choose not to live in fear of the unknown or to try and control things that are beyond my control.
