GLP-1 Novice
Hey everyone. I've been lurking for a bit, trying to take in information and learn from everyone here, as well as doing research elsewhere.
A little back story; I've been at a steady weight range of 250-295 for close to a decade. When I apply myself, and actually have the patience and self control needed to stay in a calorie deficit, I can lose weight quite easily.
May 2021, I joined a challenge/competition with a group of friends in which we all put $100 into a pot and visited a personal trainer for accurate body fat percentages. I weighed 286.2lbs at 28.2% body fat. We all met back up the first week of July of the same year, roughly 60 days later, at the same personal trainer. From staying in a calorie deficit during that period, I was down to 257.6 at 26.9% body fat. And I felt better than ever.
I continued my deficit for another month or so and flattened out at 255lbs. Like hitting a wall, unable to go lower. It was a combination of losing patience with tracking/counting calories, and having to combat the hunger spikes by drinking water(it felt like gallons at a time). I eventually stopped tracking anything, not calories, not weight. By August of 2022 I had gotten back up to 265lbs.
I took on a new career at that point, and my meals became more of a "cram something in and get back to work" kind of deal. Regardless of walking 5+ miles per day, compared to when I was extremely sedentary, I am now back to 295. And I just cannot stay consistent with tracking calories, and I'm guilty of convenience eating.
Enter peptides. Obviously there's been a lot of talk of semaglutide and GLP-1 for some time now. I've heard pros and cons, I know a few people that have used sema and a few people who are moving to tirzepitide. I dont care for clinics, doctors, or overpaying due to insurance not covering it for weight loss. But I feel like I'm fairly intelligent, and competent enough to keep myself safe in regards to sourcing grey.
I've come up with a plan for myself consisting of Reta, CJC-1295, ipamorelin, BPC, TB and GHK-CU. Im also planning on tackling some other health concerns as well, like working toward improving mental health, sleep quality, correct my ADHD, etc. So I was going to work in some vitamins and supplements into my regimen, specifically vitamin D and magnesium, but I have a list I put together.
Anyway, I'm hoping to continue learning and to find more guidance from the community, as well as share my journey along the way. I've got a goal of 200lbs, and I'm hopeful to see solid progress by the end of the year.
Thanks to everyone here for their insight and and hard work. I hope I'll be as knowledgeable in the subject as some of you are some time in the future.
