75 year old female in Scotland. Weighed in at highest weight of 245lbs approx 11 years ago. Been on tirzepatide for 15 months. Starting weight approx 170lbs. Happily maintaining at 120lbs. Taking huge care- heavy lifting, water, protein etc.
Health, bloods excellent. No sides or issues.
Don't know how to describe this properly but here goes. Roughly five weeks ago started suffering anxiety. No previous history. Got quickly worse until I could barely function. Then panic attacks started. They are AWFUL. Did a bit of research and found this is a rare side of tirz. But after 15 months ??!! Things were so unbelievably bad that I had to stop cold turkey ( from 6mg every 8 days). Feeling back to being myself which is a huge relief. However, despite tracking everything and doing exactly the same I've gained 8 lbs 😳 I look pregnant due to a bloated tummy! My provisional thoughts are to start a small dose of Reta in the hope that it suits. Anyone else out there that has suffered this?

Anxiety is a tough one because it's cause can stem from so many sources. I've noticed more erratic anxiety lately (16 mo on GLPs). I don't know if it's the switch from Tirz to Sema, the addition of Cagri, completely changing my supplement regimen or life events. I can't talk myself down from it like I use to. Instead I find myself fixating on things I don't want to think about.

Fortunately I'm taking Mirtazapine which allows the plane (anxiety) to circle the airport and not land, grain of salt territory. Highly recommend Mirtazapine.

Thank you for your comments. No change to supplement routine. No stressful life events. Just came on so suddenly and viciously. To the point of not being able to get dressed some days. I was terrified ( of nothing!) I feel that the fact I'm fully recovered and happy so soon after stopping points to it being caused by the tirz. Goodness knows why. It was going like a dream. (And...guess who has 4 years worth of tirz in the freezer 😅) Interesting that you are around the same time schedule and feeling a bit extra anxiety. Mine happened in a rush. Weird. I don't want to experience it again but I'll have to take something to stop the regain. I don't fancy the side effects of sema so I'm looking at reta. Apparently it can cause anxiety as well but perhaps it wouldn't happen this time around due to the different peptide. If I'd been planning this I would have gradually reduced tirz as I went up in reta.

Try changing the compound and start at half equivalent dose. Also it is worth checking your minerals and vitD, b12 and folic, apparently glp agonists are a bit hugry on those. Try to use the anxiety attacks to work out or do a strenuous activity, if you don't have the suffocation aspect of it, of course. And cortisol

Thank you beingthere. Excellent idea to have bloods rechecked. Organising that.
Anxiety/ panic attacks are completely gone. 😁 Retatrutide coming from UK supplier today so will do 1st jab once it arrives. Have ordered supplies from China but it'll take a few weeks until I get test results. Fingers crossed the reta doesn't cause anxiety. 🤞On the positive side, this am's weigh in was stable so perhaps the weight gain has ceased. I still look pregnant though - unlikely at 75 😂
