I've run into several posts talking about no or reduced effects of glp1's after having discontinued them, then returning. Is this common? Is there a best practices to avoid it or minimize the chances of it happening?

I'm just starting to drop 10 lbs of fat while I recomp, but was hoping to use it again down the road, so looking for advice or anecdotal experiences.

I've also heard the opposite can be true. Some have to titrate up again from a lower dose when starting over...

Yes, some have had that happen. So, It's not a given for everyone who starts up again to have the same experience.

anecdotal experiences: a friend achieved goal with only 5mg. Tirz. Then jumped off completely. Happy as a clam. While myself have to continue to titrate up, because weight loss plateaus. Some are 'resistant,' some are 'easy keepers.'
So, off hand, I'd say, it depends. I know, that's not helpful. (Still only talking about tirz.)
If you lost 10lbs. in the first week at 2.5mg i'd say you're lucky!

Also anecdotal, some of the message boards on Reddit talk about this. People have stopped medication so that they can eat as much as they want on vacations, come back and found that the glp-1 is no longer working. I'm sadly watching a friend get bigger and bigger. She was on ozempic, went to the highest dose, and is now on mounjaro on her way to the highest dose and it's not helping. My thought is to maybe stay on it at a lower dose or micro dose. Maybe that will help? I definitely don't think people should go off of it so that they can eat as much as they want. I found that I can enjoy better when I eat well and stick to the positive changes I've made.
