My name is Rich and I’m from Pittsburgh. I haven’t started my GLP-1 journey yet but basically my insurance no longer covers any weight loss medication and I need a little help to drop some weight. I had a VSG in 2018 and I went from 430 pounds down to 270. I’m now hovering around 300 mad would like to be around 230-240 at 6’6”. The biggest thing for me was the reduced appetite and cravings during the first 8 months or so post-surgery. Im hoping to learn more about the different peptides and try retatrutide. I’m going to learn as much as I can before making a purchase and starting this journey.

Thanks for all the help in advance,

Rich

Welcome! There's plenty of info weighing your GLP options here. I'd take a look at tirzepatide based on your need for appetite suppression post-op in the past. Semaglutide actually hits appetite the hardest but I've done both and prefer tirzepatide. Both have longer track records and less expense then Retatrutide and are more familiar to doctors.

Reta is a good option but so is Sema. I think Sema has 20x greater affinity for glp1 and most seem to feel more appetite suppression on it. If it were me I would start with Sema, very inexpensive. Start low and go slow. I was down 80 before going to Reta.
