Actually, I live just outside of NOLA, but close enough! I've been here reading for about 2 weeks and thanks to the list put together by @dionysos, I just received my kit of T30 from Amopure yesterday.
I stumbled into the GLP-1 world while researching the medications my husband had been put on for his heart and (unknown) type-2 diabetes all at once. He was hospitalized very suddenly with a heart issue and he left the hospital after 4 days on 7 different medications. We were both very scared and I went into heavy research mode about each medication, how they interacted, and what else might be out there to best treat these conditions.
He was not put on a GLP-1 drug, but I did run across it during this time and while researching.
I read several anecdotes about how these medications curbed the desire to drink alcohol in people suffering from Alcohol Use Disorder. It sounded like a miracle cure...lose weight and be free from the craving for alcohol? As someone who has struggled with alcohol addiction for 3 decades, I could not find a provider fast enough. I went with the first Telehealth provider I found (Emerge) and took my first injection of Tirzepatide just over 5 weeks ago. From day one I lost any desire to drink, the food noise disappeared (I started 60 pounds overweight), and I committed to eating healthy and starting an excercise regime. I am down 15 pounds as of today.
I've been on compound Tirz for nearly 6 weeks now and worried about the end of compounding, which led to finding this amazing, sometimes dramatic, and very helpful forum. I am so thankful for all of the information shared here. I am living inside of a miracle right now and at age 56, I feel finally free.
