Hi everyone! Glad to be here and have found this form. Been lurking and going down a rabbit hole for a while, and thought I’d finally join the fray.

I just recently started tirzepazide. Was overweight for a majority of my life (mid 20s M) and have struggled to get below the obese BMI threshold. I waffled over trying a GLP-1 for nearly a year, but finally took the plunge at the end of March.

I’d heard of “grey-market”, but the idea of reconstituting a peptide in my kitchen and injecting it kinda freaked me out at first. As my insurance doesn’t cover anything GLP-1 worth a damn outside of diabetes, I started with compound. I got about a 6 month supply from Brello for $500.

I’m on shot #3 at 2.5, and while there’s been some GI disruption to start, it’s levelled out and has overall been very positive. I’m not thinking about food and snacking all day, and can feel satisfied with just a taste of something or a normal portion. I feel so much less inflammation and bloating, and for the first time feel like my health goals are within reach. Time will tell, but fairly confident I’ll be on this long-term.

With the end of compounding and my insurance probably covering it any time soon, I’ve gone down the rabbit hole and demystified reconstitution for myself quite a bit. Seems like it’s not too much of a task if you can do basic math, follow directions, and use basic online common sense/scam avoidance (coming from the Reddit compound forums, it’s crazy how many don’t).

Considering placing an order soon. Nexa seems like a good option for me. I do wonder if I should pull the trigger sooner than later with all the trade war stuff going on. Looking at nexa since they’re domestic shippers (from what it sounds like) and I don’t want to risk my global entry.

I guess my only anxiety is sterility. I know wiping stuff down, PPE, and filters will go a long way, but I worry about the fact that I can’t replicate the sterility of a legit compounding lab. Seems like most people here don’t have issues with that though and if you’re not trying to be stupid the risk is pretty low. Maybe I’m just an overthinker!

Welcome, fellow New Yorker! It sounds like you're on a great path ... nonetheless, read over the beginning of the thread that's the first link in my signature.

To each his own on future availability/cost, but Nexaph is a solid choice for ease and peace of mind. PGB also, but crypto for New Yorkers is a challenge.

Regarding sterility, bac water goes a long way, and the issue is less serious for subcutaneous injections than others (CDC doesn't even recommend alcohol-swabbing skin prior to jab, and Eli Lilly doesn't include swabs, but I do so anyway...especially because I swab the vial-top before each use). I don't filter, which I see as needed only for special applications.

Welcome to the pit...I mean the forum :D

I used Brello too! :) I did order from Nexaph but will probably use PGB next time due to lower cost (even though they require crypto).

Regarding risk, a lot of people don't even filter, so I feel pretty safe with my recon and filter kit.

I will say PGB has a great crypto guide, even after being in IT for a long time I was intimidated by the learning process. They cleared it up for me quite well, and I did benefit from the newbie tutorial etc.

Welcome to the forum, fellow New Yorker!

You have six months of compound- take your time, read around, learn. Make some friends! You'll be comfortable long before you're out.
