Hello from Indiana. I'm a mom of three, now raising my two grandchildren and working full time. I've had a long journey with post viral illness, pots dx, other autoimmune issues, and difficulties with weight loss thrown in the mix. I had gastric bypass, which barely helped, I saw some weight loss initially. My insurance will not cover the cost of semaglutide, I'm not diabetic. I did get a diagnosis of NAFLD about 10 yrs ago. None of my physicians addressed this or have seem concerned, despite my chronic fatigue. Meanwhile, I continued to have worsening health problems over the years. I'm here to learn from others who have been on this path longer than I have. I'm in the medical field, also interested in alternative medicine, herbal therapies etc. I've seen some improvement with my health after implementing an anti inflammatory diet, experimenting with different supplement stacks. Looking forward to being a part of this community, thanks for having me!

Paycheck huggers, most of them. The ones who care get burned out or move away.

We had a great neurosurgeon in our town. Cared more than any doctor I have seen in a long time. There was a big frivolous lawsuit that made the front page, she lost, and she decided to hang it all up. Now she just owns an alternative therapy practice, but she has stopped practicing and basically retired early before the age of 40.

The orthopedic surgeons are the worst, as a group. A bunch of former jocks who rarely provide true informed consent about the risks and possible pain, such as after total knee replacement. Some don't even know all the alternatives to total knee replacement, such as GAE (an outpatient procedure in interventional radiology to reduce knee inflammation). And if they do know about it, they rarely mention it since it would hurt business.
