I’m here to learn. I’ve never been overweight, but have a disproportionately big stomach that perimenopause has made dramatically worse. I know this means high visceral fat, which is clinically bad to have as well as looking (on me) awful. I’m lucky enough to not suffer from what I’ve seen people refer to as “food noise”, and I eat healthily and quite moderately (most days), but that is clearly no longer enough to make a dent in this abdomen pillow I’m carting around. It’s really affected my confidence to the point where I’m embarrassed to leave the house or run into people I know, ridiculous as that probably sounds. HRT, which I’ve been on for about two years now, has shifted a small amount of it but that’s all. I exercise sporadically (mostly calisthenics) but am bad at sticking to it consistently, and it no longer seems to do what it did when I was younger. I haven’t tried peptides yet, and didn’t think I would as some of the side effects sound daunting, but I’ve reached the stage where I am now keen to explore the idea and learn from people’s experiences. It’s nice to meet you all, thank you for having me!
