Can I simply create home buffered NAD+ by reconstituting non-buffered NAD+ vials with a sterile sodium bicarbonate 8.4% solution (typically used in IVs)? Thanks!

Technically yes, but it’s risky
What's your experience level with homebrewing or pH balancing?

Drat, I knew it wouldn't be so easy!

No experience with homebrewing or pH balancing. My understanding is NAD+ needs to be at a certain narrow pH range when buffered so I'd need to basically burn a vial dialing in how much solution is required to be in this range?

Exactly. It’s a pain in the ass because you’d need a high-end pH meter and you'd likely kill the potency of that first vial, in my opinion it’s not worth the hassle.

Thanks, yeah, I'll just stick w/ buying it buffered.

Absolutely not worth the hassle. However, had a vendor send me some that they swore was buffered, it did not dissolve when reconned with BAC. Ph strip confirmed not buffered. Found a vendor that sold Sodium Bicarbonate solution. Started with a very small amount and added just till the NAD would dissolve. After that I had the measurement down for that batch and it was smooth sailing ever since. Hopefully the next batch is actually buffered.
