I think I have a serious problem with clothes hoarding.... This is my second donation of "fat clothes". The first donation was similarly sized. This donation, which I'm not sure if I'm going to bring to the veterans or a local men's drug rehab place consists of:

114 pairs of shorts
50 pairs of pants
148 shirts
2 suits and 1 raincoat

What is wrong with me? God, I hope I don't gain weight 🤣

Holy smokes, you're donating more than I've owned in the last decade+!

I need to go through my closet and clean out the XXL that's in the way, most of them fit me like a trash bag these days.

I've never considered donating a used rain coat...

Oh yeah, i went through a couple iterations of this.

First batch i was unsure of myself. Had to really build that trust that i'd not need them again, like ever. Clothes are expensive.

Winter coats were a big one too. I had to replace every single one this past winter. I was swimming in them.

I do agree though, those numbers are way high.

I think i maybe own like 10 pairs of shorts (3 are for working out). Maybe 10 work shirts and 20 tshirts, and like 8 pairs of pants. This number is pretty close to what it was before i purged and re-bought too.

Congrats on clearing out some closet space for new stuff!

I'm the opposite. Saved all my large and medium shirts, shorts and jeans. I bought 4 XL fishing type shirts, a couple stretch shorts and a big pair of jeans. I now fit into almost all that stuff. Glad I didn't spend a shit load on more on that larger stuff.

I've been slowly tossing as I grab something and when I put it on it looks like a potato sack. My biggest problem is my fave fat jeans and shorts...they are shoved to the back but I can't let them go. I get the what ifs and these served me so well vibes. I gotta get over it, I can't see gaining back that much as long as I have my stockpile of Tirz.
PS- I still have my zipper ankle GUESS jeans from the 80s. They are stored away because I can not let them go. I have issues 🤷‍♀️

Dude! Thats awesome! I'll wear my jeans until I get holes in the crotch and then chuck. I NEVER donate clothes, they either clutter up the drawer and never get worn or my wife keeps bringing new crap from Goodwill or thrift shopping. I've got shirts from when I was 16 waiting on me to hit my 'goal weight' 😂. Mo 'old fat' clothes are now officially too big. I'm down from 265 to 224 over the last 3 months (I used to do these extreme water fasts at the beginning of the year when I was younger and drop a ton of weight, just to gain it all back and then some) This time it's staying off for good and it's not coming back (At least that's what I'm telling myself)

As I started with, I think I have a serious problem 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I've been literally drowning in clothes. A family member offered to help me get this organized for donation and I couldn't refuse.

Yes, normally I wouldn't donate a coat that I've worn a lot, but this was rain coat that I wore maybe like 2 or 3 times and was kind of expensive (to me) for a raincoat. I hope the person who ultimately wears it doesn't get mugged for the coat 🤣.

Speaking of coats, I have a bunch of winter coats to donate from XXL to 4X of varying thickness, maybe 10 or 20 of them. If you add in polo fleeces, it's probably more like 30 or 40. But, I'm going to bring those north to dontate, no sense donating those here in south Florida.

Congrats on your weight loss! That's fantastic. I think a lot more guys are like you and wear stuff until they are ready to dispose and/or never chuck than like me.

Former extreme couponer here lol I can relate to the hoarding of some items. For clothes I'm the opposite. I feel bad buying new clothes and not getting rid of anything I have. During this weightloss journey I've been more into thrifting or clothes from yard sale. Ive kept a lot of my oversized graphic t's, but I donated all the pants/shorts/dresses. Kudos to you for donating, if you can donate to a shelter or even a thrift store that is ran by an animal rescue of some sort that helps too!

This is giving me life! BIG congrats on your success, and I’m sure these clothes will get a great second life!!

I am a clothes horse and have complete wardrobes in probably 4 sizes. Last time I had a big drop I was psyched to donate…& then when the big gain happened I had to re-buy an XXL wardrobe again. Then after a bad injury and gains, a (smaller) 3X wardrobe. Too many G-D wardrobes!!

This time I have faith maintenance will last since I plan on being lifelong.

I cannot wait to fit back into my double vintage wardrobe-I have tons of vintage things I bought 20-25 years ago, so even if they were new at purchase they’d be vintage now LOL

Thanks! I, too, have faith this time is going to be different. By all accounts, as long as you're willing to stay on the medications that the weight loss is sustainable.

Best of luck on your journey!

I thought I was the only one who had so many clothes!
When I was still married, I purged my closet of my skinny clothes after gaining over 40 lbs. in less than a year. I lined up the bags and told my ex to get rid of them.
I go all new clothes 4 sizes bigger and settled at that, deep in sadness.
When I finally figured out how to lose all the weight, I told my ex "I wish I hadn't gotten rid of all those cute skinny clothes". He ran down to the garage, pulled them all out and told me "Here you go! I had faith in you even when you lost faith in yourself".
We divorced but remain friends & I'll always remember that moment.
