Peppers - the scammers are trying their best to steal your money.
An e-mail is being sent out that looks like it might be from Peppys - BUT IT IS NOT.!!!!!!!!!.
Do not respond to the e-mail. In fact - check with me in Peppys (by message or chat) and I may ask you to forward it with all the header information for tracing the account that is fake.
This is what the e-mail looks like:
and it includes an attachment that has a price list that looks like this
Look carefully at the e-mail it came from - see the spelling -- they took an m out in hopes they could scam you.
* First - we do not sell peps and we will not send you price lists.
* Second we don't use the g-mail account for that type of thing - sooo anything coming from Peppys gmail purporting to sell you something is a fraud.
* Third - we think this is from a previous user named TinkyWinky - who had a sob story about Peps he needed to get rid of - and it even went so far as to say at the end that his mother was sick or dying or something (I cant remember right now the exact details) and couldn't get us to help him - couldn't get some other platforms to help him, so he is trying to scam you all individually.
ALWAYS look carefully at any e-mail addresses. if it has any extra letters, and spaces, dashes, non-Latin alphabet letters or numbers; any emoji's, punctuation - or ANYTHING that is not exact - don't answer it.
IF you get one and think it MIGHT be really from us - check with me here in Peppys. There is only one Goodkitty in Peppys - and that is me! Two oo's in Good - two t's in kitty, etc.... not extra numbers, letters or words before or after, no extra punctuation, etc.
Check the about page for the names of our moderators - and if the name is not exact - it is not them. - No extra anything in the name. - no Mod after the name - etc. Badges and flair are not part of the user name - so always check the user name very carefully.
We had a Pepper member recently get scammed for $1000 from the fake Krysia-Mod account.
Please Please, be careful out there - they are out to take your money! Approach everything with skepticism and question everything. If someone gets upset at you asking QUESTIONS that might be a red flag!
Do not be afraid to approach any one of the admins or moderators in Peppys. You can reach the real one by clicking on their avatar in the about page and messaging from there. Don't be afraid of making a post asking other Peppers. We have several members who have worked their way to Ghost Pepper Guru or Dr Pepper X who are also helpful in watching out for the community.
Be careful out there! I wish I didn't have to keep making these announcements - but those scammers are trying their hardest - and we need you all to be watchful and careful!
