I have been using peptides for a little more than a year and a half. I have researched and researched fell down this rabbit hole and MAN am I happy to be here!

In 2009 I weighed 283#. I had gastric bypass surgery and was down to 143 pounds.
Then I got divorced JUST LIKE THEY PREDICT which I NEVER thought would happen! I’m a stress eater so I regained back to about 180’s -190’s.

My weight doctor helped me get the coupon for using Mounjaro and I dropped the weight and was able to start maintenance right as the coupon expired. Luckily my insurance covered the shots. I jumped through every hoop the insurance company wanted me to. But in the end, they denied me because I didn’t have enough to lose. I WAS IN THE MAINTENANCE PHASE. Nope. They said, since I used the coupon and not insurance to lose the weight they wouldn’t cover maintenance. So, I was left to once again gain weight.

But then I found peptides. I now weigh 132-135. My weight is FINALLY in MY control and not some stranger behind a monitor denying me even though my doctors of almost 20 years MORE than agree I need the help from the shots. No. Me. I got this now.

Welcome! I can relate to you a bit, having the surgery, then a divorce. But, that was over 20 yrs ago........now that I'm on tirz, I find that my old, "new" habits after surgery are coming back to me and I'm excited about that! All the best to you going forward 😊

I’ve just started looking into peptides myself after bouncing around with different weight loss methods over the years. Though I didn’t have surgery yet, but I’ve done everything from keto to calorie counting, and while I had short-term wins, nothing ever felt sustainable. I can totally relate to that feeling of being at the mercy of insurance companies and hoops. It’s exhausting and honestly feels so unfair when you DO everything right.

I just started peptides myself, about 2 months ago, but spent a bit of time researching the ones to best stack with the TRT I was put on by the doc. After being denied for Zepbound numerous times, thats what led me down the pep journey. Like you, finally taking it into my own hands to finally claw back a healthy weight and in turn life.

Definitely glad to be here and find a place full of experience and a wealth of information.

I was devastated to be divorcing. It was not anything I did. But as they predicted, jealousy reared its ugly head and MAN did it get ugly. So, I got gone. Surgery was in 2009. Still single. Not dating. Too afraid. So, I am doing this for myself and no one else. I want to look in the mirror and be proud of myself. I want my kids to be proud of me.

I know what you mean by the old “new” habits. It feels good to not want food. To not be thinking about it all the time. That’s the one thing surgery doesn’t fix.

I remember just sobbing. How can I have gone to every last appointment. (A hour and a half away - one way) Done every last blood test. Spent months upon months of doing exactly what my doctor told me to do. Only to ultimately be told…🚫
