Wanting thoughts from the group. What would you say are your pros and cons for choosing one vs the other for an individual with no set preference?

I am witin 5lbs of goal and in the process of switching to Reta from Tirz right now. I am trying reta both for the metabolic benefits and because it is supposed to provide more energy than Tirz. I have a freezer full of both and can always switch back if it doesn't work out.

I ended at 10mg Tirz and went down to 7.5 and then 5mg over a few weeks. Tomorrow, I will probably pin 4mg, 2.5mg next week and zero the week after. On the Reta side, started at 2mg for 3-4 weeks, 3mg earlier this week and will move to 4mg next week. I plan to hold reta at 4mg for few weeks and see how my weight goes. If up, I will titrate Reta up, if down I will try increasing my food intake.

Plz keep us posted! This looks like a smooth transition.

Have you used both? I would pick the one that still suppress food noise. I am stacking both and plan to fade out triz, and increase reta, with the hope to maintain with Reta. I need to use up my triz before I am 100% reta. Based on research, Reta is more 3rd gen glp1. I would not be surprised to stay on mntc for 1+ year as many folks gain weight after they stop. In one year, we may have better research available on the best approach to maintain. I am also stacking Cagri but do not like it effect on my stomach, so for me, it will be my last choice for mntc, but need to use up some of my 18 month supply. I need more data... and I am 6-8 months away from my target.

Did you start gaining weight when you reduced Tirz?

Mainly used Reta but used Tirz for like 30 percent of the journey (on its own, stacking etc). But mostly straight Reta. But Tirz definitely does the suppression of food noise the best and with a smidge of Cagri is very tolerable. Reta works great but at 10. Never went above 7.5 on Tirz. So thinking maybe Tirz since Reta really raises my HR.

Not sure, I was losing steadily with higher Tirz and 2mg Reta but recently started slowly gaining eating the exact same breakfast/lunch and similar calorie dinners. It's been about four-weeks since I started the switch and I am down about three pounds over this period but up a pound this week. I'm not worried about it though, if a gain a few pounds while transitioning I will just stay at a higher Rita dose until I am at goal and the dial it in to maintain. At least that's my plan.

Curious if you see any reduction in anti inflammatory benefits. I've been back and forth on this for a few month and I'm just a few pounds from maintenance and possibly a clean bulk, so reta has been really interesting me.

But tirz cured my life long sleep apena in like 4 to 6 weeks of being on it, I'm assuming due to anti inflammatory effects, so I'm mainly worried about that.

My main quibbles with Tirz are the anhedonia (manageable but annoying) and insomnia. Reta pretty much never gave those issues.

I'm still titrating Tirz down so I won't know the anti-inflammatory impact of Tirz vs. Reta.

I have sleep apnea and still have it after six-months of Tirz, now even with a normal BMI. I don't have very high hopes that Tirz (or Reta) will help me here.

I also had periods where Tirz caused mild anhedonia, but mine only lasted a few weeks.

Titrating down from 15mg Reta, 2mg per week. Will add in Cagri to fend off food noise. At 8mg Reta now and still feel the same, no noise and decent suppression. I expected worse, but so far so good. Goal is to stay on Cagri alone if possible.

Have you been able to maintain your weight with just Reta or have things crept up? My primary concern right now as I try to lower doses.
