I have been taking tirzepatide for a little over three months and have ran into problems that are stopping me from getting to an effective dose. I worked my way up to a dose of 5 mg of tirz once weekly. About three days into the week, I got debilitating diarrhea and bothersome insomnia.
When this occurred I thought the gastro-intestinal problem was due to an incident eating out the day before. However, in three days or so after taking my next tirz dose, I again suffered the gastro-intestinal problem. The insomnia may be anxiety related and there is a fair chance over time I could resolve it. The other problem is just to difficult to cope with. Therefore, I have dropped down to a 2.5 mg. tirz dose split into two halves pinned twice weekly. Geting some reduction in food noise but not enough to be effective. I am considering switching to reta because the effective dose is so much lower than it is for tirz. I am hoping the desired beneficial would kick in at a lower level than the nasty sid effects. Love to hear from you reta users. Is there ant chance this strategy would work or is it just a pipe dream? I would appreciate any thoughts, comments, or suggestion that you have. Thanks in advance!
