HEY FRIENDS! 👋🏼

Please don’t mind the Newbie Question: What is a Filtering Kit? Why would you need to filter your peptides? Please expand my mind with wisdom. 🤔 LOL..

I don’t have any wisdom to share, but I think filtering is a good idea. I didn’t want to do it because it looked too fussy, but it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. The Filtering Kit that a lot of people buy is presently sold out, but you can recreate the supplies by looking at their list and purchasing separately. The instructional video here is too long and fussy, but it will give you a good idea of the process. I still don’t understand why one would need to put a filter on the vent needle, since you’re probably going to inject air into the vial later when you dose, but whatever. They probably just want to sell more filters. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I personally like this video the best, save for the filter on the venting needle. (I don’t put a filter on the venting needle. Not medical advice.)

THANK YOU for giving it your best shot. Yeah I'm with you, why would you filter your peptides if you have an COA and believe it to be of pure quality. 🤔🤔🤔

Purity (sequence integrity of the peptide) has nothing to do with sterility. And most of what is in the vial is not peptide but filler.

Filtering after recon helps prevent infections and immune responses, including immune responses from aggregates (clumps of peptide molecules) and foreign particles like dust. The aggregates are most likely to form after recon.

But I just learned that it's possible to still get some immune response from endotoxins. Simple filtering like we do won't remove endotoxins (secretions from living and dead bacteria that are smaller than 0.01 microns) if they are present. Endotoxins are too small to be blocked by the 0.22 micron filters, which do remove bacteria, yeast, fungi, and mold. Mycotoxins (produced by mold and fungi) are also too small to be filtered out.

As @zpped also pointed out before, filtering won't remove heavy metals either:

Filters will remove bacteria and mold but not endotoxins, heavy metals, or anything else dissolved into the solution.
Google Gemini said:
Heavy metals, when dissolved in a solution, exist as individual ions or very small molecular complexes. These are far, far smaller than 0.22 microns and pass right through the filter's pores.

Jano does offer endotoxin and heavy metal testing, but they are rarely done compared to purity testing.
