Reconstituting/buffering unbuffered NAD+ from QSC

I finally received my sterile 8.4% sodium bicarbonate solution and am ready to reconstitute/buffer my unbuffered 500mg NAD+ from QSC. I've got pH strips and will use a venting needle. Before I dive in, can anyone who has done this before share what quantities of bacteriostatic water and sodium bicarbonate solution worked best for them? I can't be the first person here to do this and would love to benefit from the wisdom of those who came before me.

Every kit is a little different so there really isn't a formula that anyone can give.

Recon with 1.5-2ml of BAC, test the PH, if low add 1-5 units of SB (keeping track of how much you add), test the PH, if still low, continue to add SB a unit or two at a time until you get to 4-5 (but not >6). Add the remaining BAC water (subtracting the units of SB added) for your preferred dilution/dosage. If you kept track of how much SB you added, the remaining vials in your kit should need roughly the same amount to buffer.
 
Update: I was able to get a pH of about 5 using 2mL of BAC and 0.7mL of 8.6% sodium bicarbonate solution. I tested it and it doesn't sting, so I'm happy with the results.

For my next vial I'd like to make a more concentrated solution. My memory of high school chemistry leads me to believe I will need to use slightly more sodium bicarbonate solution for this, since some of the negative ions (OH-) that are increasing the pH (reducing the concentration of H+) of the NAD are coming from the BAC, so I'll need more HCO3- from the sodium bicarbonate solution in order to get the same pH with less BAC. Hmm, if I measure the pH of the BAC, I wonder if I have enough info here for ChatGPT to calculate exactly how much of each to use at different concentrations. Will try it and report back! (Update: it didn't produce good results.)

I think hospira BAC has a PH of 5.7 but it could be a little lower/higher. I would still just experiment with the SB, adding what you added for the last vial (plus some BAC) and testing it. Just make sure you use the vial in <2 weeks.
