Noob question,
I reconstituted my first vial. When pulling the BAC water, the syringe only had 2.6ish ml of BAC. (I even opened the whole vial to try and extract everything that was there) Then mixed this with my Reta 60mg.
If i'm starting with 2mg p/week. Then according to the calculators my dosage will be 9units.
Is the math correct?
Also how common is for BAC to be underfilled?
Pics for reference

Your calculation is correct. But practices not. You may not open your vials. An open vial is subject to air contamination. It is much more important than wearing gloves.

Two things. You didn’t need to crack the entire lid off the Reta. I fear you have unnecessarily exposed it to contaminants you are supposed to leave the rubber stopper in and you just put your insulin syringe in the middle of the rubber stopper to draw your dosage up.

Second point at 2 mg a week your vile is going to be sitting in your fridge for way longer than it should be. I wouldn’t feel comfortable using Reta that had been sitting for any longer than around6 to 8 weeks.

60 mg is a lot for just starting out. My first vial was 20 and it lasted for 9 weeks. Since you opened the vial I definitely would not use it that long. I'm not even sure filtering would make a difference now.

Peptide Critic is a good source for reconstitution basics

You are meant to just remove the top plastic cap off the rubber stopper not the entire rubber stopper. Then around the edge of the vial will be a metal ring and in the middle will be the access point for putting needles in through the rubber stopper to put bac water in or get doses out. You need to wipe the rubber stopper with an alcohol wipe before touching it with a needle.

It looks to me like you have taken the rubber stopper off the reta vial as well. There is zero chance it will stay sterile for weeks once this is done, so you should probably throw it and start again, although the first dose should be ok. It will grow bacteria or fungi over that time.

If there is not enough bac in 1 vial, use 2 to get to a nice round number like 2ml or 3 ml to make calculations simpler. At 3ml per 60mg reta is 1ml per 20mg or 0.1ml per 2mg. At such low volumes it is going to be hard to be precise about doses , probably does not matter much , but with bubbles in the way etc doses are going to be plus or minus 10%

Would it be okay to use this Reta for a couple weeks (let's say four doses, as long as there is no growth or cloudiness) while I get a new vial?

Since its been exposed to ambient air you need to push the entire solution through a PES 0.22um syringe filter into another sterile vial. Once that is done I would use it and pretend none of this ever happened.

In the end it is up to you. Injecting some bugs under your skin into the subcutaneous tissues is going to have some risks. Most of the time your immune system will kill them off and no problem. Next most likely is a small localised abscess under the skin, that might need antibiotics. Next worst is if the bugs are aggressive, is an invasive spreading soft tissue infection that would definitely need antibiotics and possibly hospital iv antibiotics. worst possible is it spreading into the blood and then you die without the antibiotics. None of these are all that likely and no one can guess the probabilities. I would say the first dose is ok as there was no time for any bugs to replicate even if some got in. But after that even with bac, some bugs could grow and there is risk that gets higher with time, probably not worth taking the risk.

Even before starting on any peptides, ive watched countless videos on including and especially on reconstitution.

No offense at this point I dont think you are ready for peptides. I say take this as a 60mg learning experience and move on to the next vial. Learn more about reconstitution AND storage before working on the next vial. You'd rather have a 60mg expense than a medical bill expense (which is already a risk with peptides). Also 60mg is too high as your first try on reta. I started at .5mg a week and still took time to get used to it.

Tough love time. You need to get out of the gray market. The mistakes you made show you did absolutely zero reading or research before jumping into what can be very dangerious health decisions. I'm sorry, but gray isn't for everyone and this just shows it isnt for you. Not everyone has the right mentality, ability to analyze risk, patience to do reasesrch, and decision making ability for this. This may sound harsh but I'm trying to be as nice as possible while stressing the importance of what I'm saying. This just isn't for you.

Soooo, not to harsh your mellow but bacteria are a thing. Maybe more research is needed BEFORE poking yourself with anything. I'm not an expert but sterility is key to success.

So running it through filter should be ok to be used?
No!

Throw it out.
Since you did not comprehend what Mochizuki0124, 5byfive and flapjacks wrote above, spend several more weeks reading before you think about starting again.

I've been on sites you experienced folks posted for medical supplies. My lack of knowledge on the filtering of peptides is maybe why I didn't look for or notice filters. If I go back to said sites will they list filters for purchase. Also is that filter reusable for so many times or one filtration only ?

A filter is one and done. You can usually get filters where you buy syringes and Amazon. I buy mine direct from Biologix. 100 for about $50 and free shipping. You want these below.

Thanks a million you did ne a solid here , Respect!

Going with the filter theme. What's the best approach to get most of the peptide back from filtering. Pushing air at the end of the filtering? Or pushing BAC water ?

Regarding your situation, I'd do your injections until you can get a filter and sterile vial to filter.

As to your question above, either will work. You have to decide what's worth the cost. If you're going to filter, you'll need a needle to reconstitute and draw, and another needle and filter (and sterile vial or pen cartridge) to put it into. Then just break the syringe from the filter, draw some air, and push again.

If you want to maximize the peptides, you'll need an additional needle to draw another smidge of BAC water for the final filter flush. Personally I just go with the air push.

There's an ongoing debate that an air push doesn't recover much, if any, from a 13mm filter. There's also a debate on if it's ok to filter 3ml of reconstituted 'tide thru a 4mm filter, or if it'll plug up. I've never tried a 4mm filter, so I don't know.

You can try hard but you will loose 10-30units in filtering.
As you plan to use 10 units for each 2mg dose, the filter will retain 1-3 doses.
If the bulk syringe is large enough, air purge is easiest.

Minimal manipulation is key to get longevity here, but I doubt you can safely get 30 2mg doses (30 weeks). Maybe titrate up faster (2mg a few weeks, then 3mg a few more weeks, etc), and try to use what you can withing 90 days.
Avoid unnecessary poking back and forth, as this increases the risk of contamination.
