Did you read to the end? I'm not even sure it's a true story after that. She took it for one week and lost her two double chins and her skirt was falling off?
She took it for one week and then the symptoms were still so bad she went to a GI doctor? The timeline is all over the place.
I'm calling this a BS, get attention, story.

This is total CRAP!
A month? The half life is less than a week...
Also, most people find it to be a freaking miracle.
She's gotten some bad stuff. Or wrong stuff. Or wrong dosage. Or is allergic. Or is looking for attention.

I was never fat and I had a terrible reaction so you can't say I cheated so don't say my weight loss was because of that drug it's not okay!
 
As far as I know she is actually a scientist, which does make her response all a bit odd. GLP drugs can have severe gastrointestinal adverse effects and needing hospital treatment for dehydration resulting from vomiting and or diarrhoea is actually fairly common, maybe around 1% but as a scientist she should be qualifying her statements , that her experience was at the extreme end of the side effect scale, and her experience or credentials does not qualify her to advise on when they are the right treatment, severe life threatening obesity only is simply not correct, and she is not qualified to be giving that advice, it being outside her area of expertise.

Getting that reaction to a single correct small starting dose is also odd.

A month of alternating diarrhoea and constipation is not a side effect reported in any study or on this forum, so also a very odd comment.

I take these with a grain of salt. Every person gets sides different. Luck of the draw at worse. Incentivized detractors at best.
 
Totally agree we all react differently , my body responded well to Reta. Not one bad affect even when upped last week to 1 ml. Glad I took time to read here getting ready to stack for muscle and body repair. Good stuff here gang.
 
This whole story is wild! Wow. She took one dose, right? And somehow that ended with her having explosive diarrhea for (up to) a month and needing IV fluids because she was so dehydrated, yet at the end it says she just...gave the rest of her meds to a friend. I've noticed in a ton of these anti GLP1 articles, especially regarding celebrities, they always end up giving it away to people. It's surprising to me that they'd admit that because A, it's super illegal, but B (and more importantly imo), I would never give a friend a medication that made me so sick I shat myself more than three times. I mean, tbf, I'd also never write a whole article talking about that in detail, but ya know, I'm not a millionaire or whatever so maybe I have different ideas of what's embarrassing.
It's also funny to me how many of these articles insist the person wasn't taking it to lose weight, they were taking it for other, unmentioned benefits.

To be fair to her, she seems to have gotten a legitimate BS degree, but that was many years ago. I suspect her primary work as a "scientist" was being an actress on an over the top parody of "nerd" culture that was written to appeal to a mainstream audience, which is to say any rigor beyond "I can use sciency words on a TV show" may have been lost to that period. Or as Nietzsche would say, "if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you." 🤣

And if Wikipedia is to be believed, it would appear her dissertation was titled "Hypothalamic regulation in relation to maladaptive, obsessive-compulsive, affiliative and satiety behaviors in Prader–Willi syndrome." Which I'd think would imply one would at least know a thing or two about incretin hormone signaling (i.e. GLPs)! 🤣

Everybody is different so...

I do however find the story a bit exaggerated. Frequently "news" stories crop up that seemingly abandon logic and reason in favor of hysterical fear. Specifically in GLP-1 reporting it's not that the person overdosed themselves it's PANIC FEAR NEW SPOOKY DRUG!

Its a bizarre mix of appreciative stories followed by FEAR PANIC YOU'LL POOP YOURSELF.

I'm interested what's going to happen when other peptides become able to be prescribed. Ex MOTS-c which I've heard numerous stories of injection site pain.
 
Having a doctorate in neuroscience and an area of study where her expertise does come close to GLP drugs makes her comments even weirder. If you are publicly known as an "expert" and she is close enough to that , even if she has been doing more acting than science for a fair while, it is more or less an abuse of that position to be making statements at odds with the established science, without at least some qualifications, like my experience was unusual and not typical. I find it hard to believe she would not have read any of the science on GLP drugs, it does suggest what she is saying is promotional and not particularly ethical. Someone with that background not looking up the side effects of a drug beforehand seems inconceivable to me.

Yes , 10 grams reconstituted with 1ml Bac. Looking at my syringe here it's a 1ml 100 U. I dosed the whole barrel . Am I screwed or not. I feel great. I was at 50 mark wich is .5 ml half 1ml syringe. The ones my guy gave me graduate from 10 to a 100 units within the 1ml tube. So you're correct I have to drop a zero off each unit example: 10 is actually 1 on this type of insulin 💉. Ya got me thinking now and I appreciate it , no lie.

In a court "expert" testimony may be given by establishing the witness Skill, Knowledge, Experience, Education, and Training... I think yes she would be qualified as such.

I think that could be developed to impeach her testimony and discredit her.

Forget her credentials why say you pooped yourself? She could have said "I had bad bowel movements" without painting a picture of shitting yourself.
 
I started with name brand Zepbound at the standard starting dose. Unfortunately, I had some of the same effects although not quite as severe. I did have to wash my unders and pants once and there were a few times that I only made it because our house is so small. That side effect faded over the next few weeks and even restarting after a break on an accelerated titration schedule hasn't triggered it again.

I do agree that she's more than a little "the sky is falling!" here. Glp1s can be so tremendously beneficial to so many. Accounts like hers can do a lot of damage if she starts trotting out that people should only use them if they are the last resort.

Eli Lilly really needs to release their stranglehold on the dosing IMO. 2.5 mg-5mg-7.5mg-10mg titrating up every month is just way too much way too fast for so many and many insurance and prescribing patterns basically force people to go up whether it's medically indicated or not. My dad was very nervous about starting the meds and opted to start at 1 mg and go up 1mg each dosage increase. Impressively it's already improved his IBS symptoms.

There does seem to be a community of people who aren't comfortable with compounded or gray (or perhaps their insurance has strong coverage), but are transferring doses from brand-name injectors into sterile empty vials, as a means of further controlling their dosing schedule.
