Siphox is a blood testing company that uses a novel approach using silicon photonics. They promise many biomarkers without much blood, but they are far more conservative in the amount of markers they can do (around 20 with 8 drops of blood) than other people who have made similar claims in the past. I tried them out recently and did some of the same blood tests at quest to compare. The collections were a week apart so not the best comparison, but thought I’d share the percent differences between the markers I compared.
LDL 24% with siphox lower
HDL 6.5% with siphox higher
Triglycerides 24% with siphox higher
Total Cholesterol/HDL ratio 19.7% with siphox lower
Testosterone total 4% with siphox lower
Hemoglobin A1C 7.6% with siphox lower
I’m excited for this company because I feel like theranos set back this field by several decades by making investors bearish on viable technology that was contemporary to theranos. They are working on an at home device.
Anyone else have experience with them?
