The flies do look healthy

Using a second filter on the vent needle is news to me. (Not shown in video but in the written directions). I may be cynical but video source sells filters.

I filter the liquid entering the vial but won't be using a 2nd filter on the vent where only air passes (I assume exiting). Not because I'm cheap but because I don't see the sense in it.

Thanks for the info. That part of the video was making my head hurt, haha. I thought he was being obsessive and/or greedy, but I wasn't sure.

I may be missing something, but does anyone else think about how they filter into, and then inject out of syringes that have not been sterilized? Seems to defeat the purpose.

It's indeed a very complex task, I try as best I can myself and I'll buy agar plates to test how well I'm doing
