Stupid question about reconstituting--is it assumed the mg is per ml?

This is probably a really stupid question but I am confusing myself the more I read.

The premade vials I get that my doctor orders comes as 25mg per ml, and it usually came as a 3ml vial containing 75mg.

I want to start to do this myself, so say I purchase a 30mg vial of tirz. When the vial comes, is the powdered form of that 30mg in that vial also assumed that you're adding 1ml of BAC Water so it's 30ml in that 1ml? or is there enough of the powdered form there to assume you're adding 3ml of BAC water to have it be 90mg total in 3ml?
 
No. It is always 30mg no matter the amount of BAC you add. It just changes your dose... which you didn't say how many mgs that was.

SO...your dose would be 3.75 and strength of pep would be 30mg giving you 8 doses per vial...the amount of BAC changes how much you pin.
And the only stupid question is the one not asked...because of fear to how it will be received.
There might be some condescending pricks who will mock you ( I see that response more in "Rabbit" threads than here ) for asking...screw 'em. Ask away. 🫡

It is imperative that you understand this. 30mg is the total amount of medication in the vial, regardless of how much BAC you reconstitute with.

If you add 1ml of BAC then you now have 30mg per ml. If you add 2ml of BAC, you now have 15mg per ml. If you add 3ml of BAC you have 10mg per ml. You use the concentration after the math to determine how many units you need to achieve the desired dose. Divide the vial concentration by how many ml of BAC you add. 30mg/1ml = 30mg per ml
 
If you bought 30mg vials they have roughly 30mg in them. The amount of bac water you add doesn’t change that.

Use a peptide calculator. Make your life easy.

Thank you! I was maintaining well (and recomping well too) for about a year at 113-117 til Feb when I had my shoulder done. I don’t recognize myself and get a kick out of it when people I havent seen in a while don’t recognize me either, though sometimes that is also a relief😂😂😂

Trying to get back into my regular level of activity again the best I can and dial it back in. PT keeps eating up what would be my usual gym nights. I was doing some stuff at home and I’m amping my cardio back up, and finally got back to the gym for the first time yesterday. Had to get a little creative to make a few things work, but despite doing 1/3-1/2 my usual loads, my legs and butt are feeling that two months out!

Just adding to what was said already. It is critical that you get doses right with grey GLP peptides, dose errors are really common and easy to make and are probably the main cause of severe side effects when starting GLP drugs. So always double and triple check all calculations and dilutions and use a online calculator to quadruple check. With these there is zero system in place to protect you from mistakes and getting doses wrong by a factor of 10 is really easy and fairly likely to make you feel quite unwell.

So for 30mg of drug in a vial - this will not change however much bac water is added
put 3ml of bac water so there will be 10mg per 1ml of solution. So a dose of 3.75mg would be 0.375ml of solution , you are not going to be able to measure it that precisely in a syringe, best would be 0.37 to 0.38ml, but close enough. Basic check to make sure your amounts are correct is there are 8 x 3.75mg doses in 30mg , so each dose should be 1/8th of the solution in the vial once you add 3ml of bac water. 0.375ml x 8 = 3ml and 3.75mg x 8 = 30mg if these match then you cannot have made a mistake.

You really have to be able to understand the above paragraph to be able to use grey peptides reasonably safely, I have tried to explain it as clearly as possible.

When you add the bac water write down the amount of bac used and the number of mg in the vial and the concentration, ( in this case 30mg tirz, 3ml bac, 10mg/ml ) ideally on a label stuck to the vial, or anywhere so you cannot later forget how you did it. Labeling becomes extra important if you have more than one different peptide. It is worth trying hard to idiot proof it from yourself , it is very easy to make mistakes and get peptides or dilutions mixed up, and even people who are not newbs do it. Medicines for injections normally have a lot of idiot proofing built in as well as systems in place to reduce errors, and it still does happen, making it harder to make mistakes or forget something is worthwhile.

Have custom Lego minifigs, built LoPan's domain, have an unopened set for the Dragon of the Black Pool, some Lego dragons for "Chinatown", The PorkChop Express...etc. Love it. I have learned that not a lot of folks are even aware of it! It came out when I was 8, and I think the first time I saw it I was maybe 13, because it was on cable and I was at my first "boyfriend's" house when he and his brother had it on. When Thunder blew up I was sold and my brother and sister and I would rewind that scene like a hundred times and just die laughing. A friend of mine does BJJ and often rolls with a guy that has both arms totally sleeved with LoPan, Gracie, Jack, the three storms...whoever did that work did one hell of a job too. It's just gorgeous.

I made that my profile pic in part bec I think everyone thinks I am a guy! I must speak in a manner than lends to masculine? No idea. But I love it when someone knows what it is, especially if they quote something that isn't just the "all in the reflexes" line.
 
The total amount of the lyophilized peptide is in mg. That is weight.
The amount of Bac Water you add to the vial is in mL. That is volume.

The concentration of your reconstituted peptide is x mg/y mL ( x and y are the variable numbers )

Your concentration always has the units of mg/mL

therefore, if you have a 40mg vial of Tirz and add 1mL of Bac Water
you have 40mg/mL final concentration ( or 4mg/0.1mL )

IF you are using U-100 Insulin syringes ( that means that the concentration of insulin used with those syringes is 100units/1mL ) , then the above calculation would give you 4mg/10units

Units are a measure of volume. 10units/0.1mL for a U-100 syringe,100 units = 1mL

( in the past, insulin was made in various concentrations, U-40, U-80, U-100, and even U-500,
and they made specific syringes for those too )

The max volume of your vial is in mL, 3mL, 5mL, 10mL etc.

It does not affect the concentration, only the max volume the vial can contain.

  2. Your 30 mg vial does not contain 30 mg. Batch testing reveals (approximately) what it contains. That has on occasion proved to be +30%.
  3. Don't think in terms of concentration... it's relevant only for compounding pharmacies. Eli Lilly himself doesn't use a consistent concentration
  4. Figure out how many units (corresponding to a numbered tick on your syringes) you want to pin each time, and then use the reverse calculator in my signature to determine the inelegant amount of bac water to dilute with.
  5. Don't try to do math... it's nobody's friend.

2x week split M/Thur or whatever you do. Check the COA for actual mg in vial but I typically roll spicy and calculate to the said amount. (I choose 2ml BAC for even units)

The fun part is when you realize that by controlling the ml per mg, you can set the volume of your dosage. So, for example, if you want 2mg of TB-500 you can reconstitute with 1.5ml instead of 3 and only have to inject 30 units, instead of 60, or whatever.

That's what I do with R40 and up to R140. Normally I do this simple math 30mg vial is 3ml BAC and pin what ever dose I'm on. Other times I'll recon the BAC based on my current dose vs vial mg, so I can get almost full shots and empty the vial. If that makes sense.

If you are sending a vial out of each batch for testing, You use that result mg in your calculations.

I agree, you seldom know the actual TRUE mg content of your vial... but most will come in
+/- 10% of the stated weight. So if you want 10mg, you are likely to get between 9 & 11mg.
And, your calculation will likely be consistent within a batch. ( if not, you might want a different vendor... )


If you don't try doing 'math', then how do you even know how much you are paying a vendor for your peptides ?

Some people want simplification, others want detail.
