Hello everyone,
I'm a 50-year-old living in Taiwan with a problem. I am not overweight and have a reasonably clean diet. Having a very high food drive isn't a huge issue for me since I focus on whole foods and do lots of lifting and cardio. I always settle at about 18% body fat and I'm comfortable at that weight. However, my liver isn't. Various scans show I'm suffering from a mild fatty liver and my liver enzymes are slightly elevated. Unfortunately the end of my willpower puts me at around 14% body fat and doesn't budge my visceral fat or liver value readings much at all. I need a little nudge to get around 10-12% for an extended time to really cut into that visceral fat. I'm into biohacking, and almost every measurable health metric is ideal for me, so it would be a big relief to finally be rid of this fatty liver. I doubt I'm too similar to the majority of users here, but I can't wait to learn as much as possible and if I could say one thing to people with experience in this area it would be to focus on dense nutritional sources, especially those related to bone health and protein intake, and that strength training is non-negotiable. Happy to be proven wrong. Thanks!
