What's a normal timeframe for Group Buys?

I have not done a group buy yet and was curious about what a normal timeframe would be. I know it will vary some, maybe share the quickest and longest amount of time you waited after payment if you want too. I want to be prepared for how long they will take since I'm used to getting my orders in 3 days!

Most buys from China for me have been right around 2 weeks.

My crazy theory is that GBs are favored by people with partners/spouses, as a way to spread out the deliveries. Better to have a package lost in the mail, than an angry spouse who is mindful of the deliveries per month.

There are two major risks with a trustworthy GB group:

1) Chinese vendor disappears, as with SRY, SSA, and QSC (or some other vendor drama)

2) Package lost/damaged in the mail from domestic GB operator/vendor to you

So I tend to lean on GB groups that have in-stock items, except for things that are much cheaper or harder to find.

There’s an excellent post by mod Zippity a while back dispelling a lot of the hype surrounding gb’s. If it’s advertised on a vendors site as a gb, it’s just another promotion by that vendor. Most of the rest are folks setting themselves up as neo-vendors while portraying themselves as GB Vendor’s.

Lots of risk unless you’re in a trusted group. Lots of drama in the last one I participated in. Finally got the order. Took 4 months.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info, I did look over that too. I joined the TG for a GB because it's a good group from everything I found and do different GBs. Not interested in current one going on but I will definitely check it out later. Not being vague on purpose, it is so annoying having to edit my responses to remove the company names 😂

They had a pen GB in the past and might again. I only use pens for travel so I thought it could be fun to get a few and be a low cost GB, so lower risk.

For peptides, some GBs will even have half kits. My first GB was for a half kit of T20 for like $50. The only time I ever spent any real money like $300 was for in-stock reta.

I'd allow for 1-3 months, and possibly longer if there's a situation.

The buy is held open until they've met the negotiated quota for number of kits, and received all payments. Then after getting money in full from the GB Vendor, the vendor starts the bottling sooner or later, then all the shenanagins of shipment logistics, which can sometimes including deliberately patching out boxes so that if one is intercepted, it's not $100K worth all at once. And then shipping off to Czechia for testing, and then final distribution.

A lifetime..... I did one. Paid in November. First shipment never made it through Customs. Finally arrived at GB Vendor and has been shipped to us before shipping to Jano. If it doesn't meet guarantee, I don't even want to think about what happens from there. It's just sitting in my freezer. Won't even label it until I know what's in there. I won't do this again any time soon.

Group Buys really aren't worth it to me. Not for saving $20-$50 - so not worth it. Could be forever and could be never and could be what I get is not what I bought and....and....and.....

Chasing the cheapest deal is a waste of time and money and emotion in my book.

Then again, I have many years of tirz, survo, and tesa with 3P COAs and none of the other peps seem to do a thing for me so likely won't have any need to even think about a GB for awhile.

Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering why some vendor promos were considered “GB,” and this explains that

Yes, vendors abuse the term for marketing purposes. Like much of what they have to say (to make a sale), it's worthless babbling rather than meaningful content. Vendor group buys aren't group buys at all.

Yeah, I don't think I would ever be comfortable doing it for a large peptide order. And I'm to impatient for that usually 😅 A pen GB might be interesting because of the low cost and I don't need them really.

I appreciate everyone's answers here, it's really helpful and good to know the difference between a real group buy and vendors just using it for marketing etc.

By the way, I have had no issues with domestic (last-leg) shipping, except for USPS Ground Advantage packages occasionally taking a tour of the US first. But I now choose anything but USPS Ground Advantage, if possible:

2026 Shipping Reliability Comparison: Lost & Damage Rates

Lost Pkg Rate~0.8% – 1.2%~1.0% – 1.5%~1.1% – 1.4%~1.5% – 2.2%

On-Time Rate~96.5%~91.8%~92.2%~90.4%

Detailed Description of Rates:

UPS Ground (The Corporate Standard): Currently the industry leader in reliability. Because they use an integrated network of company employees rather than contractors, there is higher accountability and fewer "hand-offs" where packages typically go missing or get crushed.

FedEx Ground (The Independent Variable): Reliability fluctuates by region because FedEx Ground operates via independent contractors. While often fast, "mis-delivery" and "lost at terminal" rates are slightly higher than UPS.

USPS Priority (The Fast Lane): Uses "Priority-only" sorting lanes and more air transport. This reduces the number of physical "touches" by roughly 25% compared to Ground Advantage, significantly lowering the risk of damage.

USPS Ground Advantage (The Economy Risk): These packages spend the most time in regional hubs and on long-haul trucks. This "exposure time" is the primary driver for its higher loss/damage rates.

I played in a gb on 11/30, bought two kits of Epitalon. They came in early January, but the testing didn't happen for weeks. When the test came back, they were underfilled by almost 25%, and the group had the option to accept an additional 5mg kit to make us whole, or wait awhile and get 10mg kits, but we still got to keep the underfilled kits. So those still haven't shipped yet, but I'm not mad because when they do, I'll have quite a bit more of it than I expected when I made the initial purchase. Of course, if the whole thing evaporates overnight, then that'd be egg on my face.

This is encouraging to hear what may happen if the CoA is unfavorable per GB parameters. I never got a detailed reply on what happens if it doesn't meet guarantees. I will retire by the time this thing closes; it opened in November. Product just sent for testing this week (or maybe last?).

Remedies are entirely contingent on the choices, actions, and persuasiveness of the vendor and GB lead. There are still no true guarantees if the test comes back with undesired results.

Ideally, the Chinese vendor has a great track record, in all respects. But could still start to deny reality. And even Uther could disappear tomorrow, leaving unfilled orders.

The most I have ever ordered in a GB was 1.5 kits.

Completely understood. I if I am looking for a grey guarantee, I need my head examined. This ain't Sears.... (Showing my age)

Oh yeah, strong agree. I'd have never even done it, but it was for epitalon, which is cheap but hard to get for a good price if you're using my rules of thumb. (Must have a US warehouse, must have no history of customer drama in public spaces, no recent scandals, and no scandals at all that were not arguably handled in good faith.) I figured I didn't mind risking a hundred bucks on something I didn't badly need to participate in a GB and see how it all worked out.
