Currently on my 8th week of Reta and first week of not dropping!

First 4 weeks were @1mg

Next 4 have been @2mg

And have lost 1kg every week until today.

I was going to go onto 3mg for the next 4 weeks, but after not budging the scales this week im
Now debating wether to just jump up to 4mg?

Plan was to do a week at 3mg and start an 8 week course of Tesamorelin on my 2nd week @3mg

Do I stick to plan or just jump up to 4mg which I wasn’t intending to do for another 4 weeks?

I'm just speaking from my own personal experience. I jumped from 2.5mg to 4mg and it made a nice difference with the weight loss. I went from 1, 2, 2.5, 4, 5, and now 6.

I for my RS would do three 1 week, see the results (did it move the needle and was it well tolerated) then move to 4 the following week if I was unsatisfied.

You can definitely titrate up more quickly on the reta. You’ve been quite conservative to date.

Just curious about your tesa plan. Why 3 mg for 8 weeks? I’m not criticizing, I just haven’t seen that as a recommended therapeutic course of treatment. The “standard” I’ve always seen and used is 2 mg, 5 on/2 off (allowing receptors to reset, this is important) for 6 months. This is how they prescribe Egrifta (brand name tesa). 3 mg won’t hurt, but I seem to recall reading that there was no increase in visceral fat loss above the 2 mg dose in clinical trials. (Just saved you 33% on your tesa bill. You’re welcome.)

For me, 2mg to 4mg titration was the same at 3lbs a week. Pinning the 4th 4mg today, and I'll decided Monday if I want to stay on 4, or go to 6 -8mg depending on the scale. One thing is the belly issues, mainly are basically gone after 8 weeks on Reta. I started a low carb diet when starting on 1/9/26. I don't track calories, protein, etc. Breakfast is a hard boiled or fried egg and a sausage patty my wife makes, lunch is a protein shake and dinner is some type of meat (fish, beef, pork, chicken) cottage cheese, sliced tomato or some steamed veggie. I do usually have 2-4 beers a day. My starting weight was 215lbs, last weigh in Monday was 195lbs. Target is 175.

The answer depends on what side effects you have at your current dose. If you have any go up slowly to 3mg , if no side effects then 4mg. Neither guarantees you will not get more side effects after increasing the dose, but at least it makes sense to do it that way.

I'm with @woundcarping in that I don't think it will matter either way but..... I would say that it is relatively normal even with GLP1's to have an "off" week during any sort of calorie reduction. Now 2 or more weeks or if you are weighing more often and are really dialed with data we could delve into that.

In addition it really grinds my gears in every one of these threads there is zero mention of diet/calorie intake. Kind of a forest for the trees situation. I blame the cheap drugs.

If you are already losing 1 kg per week, that dose is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. One week without movement isn’t a plateau, it’s just normal body fluctuation. Jumping doses too fast usually just increases side effects and shortens how long the medication stays effective. Slow and steady actually wins here.

How about starting weight, current weight, target weight, and goals being frequently being left out also.😂

Probably better to titrate up slower, that’s not to say you can’t jump to 4, you may just experience the side effects a bit more acutely, also have you modified your diet after a while? Sometimes that’s a game changer as well as you titrate.

100% correct! Only being 8 weeks in and this being the first week to not see a drop its easy to let emotions drive a response. Don't be shaken by it you need to play the long game not make knee jerk reactions always error on the side of caution. Go slow and steady and you will have better long term performance.

Thank you all for the replies, appreciate them all thank you.

It was quite a rushed post as was doing it in between working 🤫😂 but should have put more information in regardless.

Tesamorelin will be at 2mg 5/2. Was just badly written.

Starting weight 105kg
Current 98kg
Target 90kg

800 calorie deficit
Weights x 3 per week
Cardio x 2 per week

Currently away for the weekend so diet will be out the window, which maybe the reset the body needs?

Think I will jump on 3mg as planned, slowly slowly catch a monkey ☺️

Thanks again all for your replies
