News, but not too surprising that the new higher doses of semaglutide received FDA approval yesterday. I wonder how that will affect the patent. It probably resets on these higher doses 😡.

I wonder if this means that tirzepatide is similarly significantly under the max threshold. I haven’t seen anything reliable on the higher doses of tirzepatide currently being tested in a clinical trial. Some have speculated 20mg and 25mg, but maybe it’s much higher? Time to up my dose 😂.

The naps will be epic at 7.2mg.

Does sema make you sleepy? Back at the end of November I started stacking a small amount weekly and I swear it's trashed my sleep. But it could also be stress 😂.

So the last couple of weeks I started magnesium, doxepin, and skipped the last two weeks of sema. My sleep has improved slightly, but now I'm not sure what did it.....

After having a not very good time for a year on ozempic it makes me slightly pukey every time I even see those doses even written down, a dose higher than 0.5 was too high for me.
So they approved the 7.2mg dose but did not try the 16mg one, that they also studied.
Still less effective at 19% weight loss than 15mg of tirzepatide, and a lot more side effects. Pretty hard to see the advantage. I cannot see how it can avoid being replaced by tirz as the better therapy unless they make it cheaper. The main advantage of higher doses of any of the GLP's might be for the 5-20% who get significantly less weight loss than average without many side effects, where pushing the dose higher is not going to cause problems. Hopefully the higher tirz dose study has good results. When they eventually do a higher dose reta trial, hopefully it works as well as I think it might , From what I have seen it seems to be the one with the most headroom for increased weight loss at higher doses, and in the long term for those with higher starting BMI's like 40+, any more effective therapies would be very useful. I got chatgpt to calculate the likely effects of higher reta doses and its estimate was about 35% weight loss, might put some surgeons out of work. Higher doses are only going to be useful for those with not a lot of side effects at max doses though.
