What do you really gain from low dose HGH?

I see so many people ages 30-65 using 0.5-2iu hgh a day but I never understand why.. you barely get the sleep and muscle benefits
From such a dose (sure it’s individual but from what I’ve seen most people only start feeling it at around 3-4 iu) the people that use hgh at such low doses always say “it’s for skin health and hair health and anti aging” sure, hgh can improve skin elasticity and hair health but so can ghkcu (for half the price and half the side effects) I feel like I might be missing something, why would you use such low doses?

Dosing curves drop as a function of age. So yes you are missing something.

I got IGF-1 levels checked after being on 1.5iu/day (58yo), and result was 50nmol/l mean 20, or about 5 standard deviations above normal and in potential acromegaly territory and 100% not safe to stay at long term. So even those low doses can definitely be too high.

I was also doing bloods and was taking 2iu a day. My result was 33nmol/L.
I was also having daily headaches from that dosage so decided to take a break for a bit. I’ll go back l on soon but maybe only at 0.5iu instead.

For the record I’m in my early 40s woman and my hair went to lush from the HGH 💗

I did a few cycles of GLOW about 2 years ago but got a wayyy more noticeable result from HGH for hair growth.

But I still think GLOW was better for my skin. I looked so hydrated when I took glow

50 is very low, right? Am i missing something.. before starting @ 59yo mine came in at 100 ng/ml with a typical range of 68 - 247

Random, but labs for IGF really come in handy with a stack that might include Tesamorelin (egrifta) as well, because that gives an additional kick to those levels. As 'Lessthanhalf' stated above, even low doses can raise levels outside of a long term safe zone. Thankfully, HGH is SUPER well studied, so almost anything you want to ask probably has a study that can be referenced. I find it works well with Reta in my stack, some counterbalance activities and some synergies going on there....

Hmm I didn’t know that thanks, I was just thinking “this type of dosage will only get u to like 400 ng/ml” but I looked into it after u replied and that’s a LOT for a 50 year old 😭

Would it do any good for skin / hair if taken every now and again as a sort of cycle? Like, eight weeks, three times a year or something?

Great study on low dose hgh for older men. https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM199007053230101

That is generally not advisable from everything I've researched. It's kind of a "in it for the long haul" type of medication. The benefits don't really start kicking in until you have been on it for 3-6 months. And to top it off, natural production stops within a couple weeks of when you start taking it exogenously, so cycling it can crash you since so many natural body functions rely on GH and IGF1. I think you would be better off doing cycles of Tesa or CJC to increase natural production if you aren’t looking for long term support. I have no first hand anecdotal experience to draw from, only what others have said and my understanding of the research I have been looking into. I am going to be switching from tesa/ipa cycles to straight HGH therapy as soon as my shipment gets in, so I have been heavily researching it recently.

Thank you, that's helpful!
