WEEK 1 UPDATE
I started on Wednesday, but I will keep my updates to Fridays. That mean, this first update is actually a bit more than a week long. But from next update (WEEK 2), it will be exactly one week long.
WEIGHT
On Wednesday last week I was 94.5 kg around 4pm. But I have since started weighing myself in the morning first thing right after taking a piss. Therefore, this first weighing is a bit misleading because you tend to weight 0.5-1kg less in the morning.
Last week: 94.5kg / 208.3 lbs
Now: 93.3kg / 205.7 lbs
Difference: -1.2kg / -2.7 lbs
PROTOCOL
0.5 mg reta Tuesday morning (6am ish)
0.5 mg reta Friday afternoon (6 pm ish)
The reason for this protocol is because I think it is better than dosing full once a week. Because the half-life is 6 days, why don't we split the dose into two times a week? Who is forcing us to do once a week, right?
But, actually, hehe, the main main reason was because I started on Wednesday last week with 0.5 mg (my first time using reta) and by Friday I was impatience for greater effect so I thought if I injected another 0.5 mg I'm still at just 1mg a week. But then I did some calculations and found out that if i split 7 days in half that's 3.5 days. So, each 3.5 days can be Friday afternoon and Tuesday morning (I know this can be a bit confusing but trust me, that's 3.5 days in between those times).
DIARY
I had zero idea what to expect taking reta 0.5 mg first time. After injecting on Wednesday evening, I decided to fast on Thursday. And surprisingly, it felt "easy". I wasn't so hungry! So I thought "Wow, the reta works already!". About half Thursday in, I had a massive headache, and I figured it was because I forgot to drink water (which I did). So, I drank two glasses of water. Mistake. Because my stomach was so full and I felt nausaus I had to lie down for 1 hour before it went away. And I thought "Wow, maybe that's part of the reta, it makes you full in your stomach super fast" (I think this is not true now after one week, but more on this later).
Anyways, I fasted all of Thursday, and I thought I was gonna fast Friday as well, but lo and behold, I actually got hungry on Friday afternoon around 1pm. I was a bit disappointed as I had hoped to not feel the hunger. So, I ate. And because I was impatience of "not feeling hunger", I decided to inject myself with another 0.5 mg around 6 pm. Note that I ate reguarlary on this day, maybe 2500 kcal.
On Saturday I was also hungry and ate another 2500 kcal. I was a bit suspicious whether the reta was actually working.
On Sunday, I was starting to feel less hungry and ate only around 1500 kcal. Now i was a bit more optimistic about the reta, and also happy I took the extra 0.5mg on Friday.
Monday, not so hungry and ate 1000 kcal. By this time I was sure the reta was working. I knew now for sure that my chinese reta was not fake. Because I really did not have a food noise. However, you still get that "annoyance" that you get when you haven't eaten for long time. But, to be clear, it is not hunger pangs, or any feeling of food want or food noise or food craving or anything to do with food. But it was just that the body felt annoyed it didn't get food, which I recognized from when I had been dieting many times before in my life. But this feeling, you could just ignore. The only problem with this feeling is that you become lightly annoyed (which is why people snap at you when they are hungry). So, realistically, you could be on 0.5 mg every 3.5 days and have zero food noise and do a perfect deficit diet. However... if you eat, food taste damn fucking good... And you could easily eat more...
So, on Tuesday I decided to inject another 0.5 mg to keep the reta up and continue my deficit. And to no surprise, I felt very hungry on Tuesday and ate 2500 kcal.
Then 2000 kcal on wednesday.
Finally on Thursday we're back at 1500 kcal.
Now, today, on Friday, I have had 1500 kcal so far and it is 6:50 pm right now, so I will not eat more today. Also, I injected another 0.5 mg 50 minutes ago at 6 pm.
PLANS FORWARD
I plan to start upping the injections to 1.5 mg, or 0.75 mg twice a week. The reason for this is that for a few days in the week, I will "crack" and eat like 2000-2500 kcal. This is fine, because it is still maintenance, but I would like even more hardcore results so that I keep eating 1500 kcal ALL the time. And maybe even 1000 kcal sometimes. Yes, I know this is superhardcore and definitely not good for my muscles. But I am not so concerned about keeping muscles at this point.
That said, I think you definitely could do just 1 mg a week on reta and literally be able to lose weight slow and steady, say 0.7-1 lbs a week without food noise. So, in that sense, that's crazy amazing. Like, it's life changing actually.
However, for my case, I am going on a vacation till summer, so I want to lose as much as possible so I can be somewhat lean for the beach. I now, I now, I am a bit vain here. And honestly, I kinda regret having bought the ticket and hotels already, because otherwise I would be so happy doing just 1mg a week. That is why I think I will stop at 1.5 mg a week. Meaning, from next week I'll do 0.75 mg twice a week and just stay here for at least 3-4 weeks. Then see if I want to go up to 2 mg a week.
PLANS AFTER 4 WEEKS
Since the reta is obviously working, I have ordered (payment done today!) tesamorelin + ipamorelin. I am intending to start a 40 day protocol doing around 0.75-1mg tesamorelin and 0.3-0.4 mg ipamorelin stack nighlty 5 days a week with weekends off. That is also why I think maybe after 4 weeks I might have to up the reta to 2mg a week.
