I have been noticing that ive been having some shortness of breath after being on reta for about a month. As in its a little difficult to breathe in fully and I hadnt noticed since I've had to pause my cardio from an injury.

I read that your lungs can get pushed up from gastrointestinal issues like food staying in your stomach for too long. This is almost certainly from Retas effects on my stomach in my case and Im wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing?

I will be getting off reta because I really just wanted to try it out as a gateway into the world of peptides and I've lost some weight but not being able to do cardio is so much unhealthier than any health benefits from Reta. Would really appreciate any insights or ideas.

I also seemed to respond especially bad in the gastrointestinal department of reta, I really had no other issues besides some infrequent stomach aches so I would say my reta experience was a mild success. So any insights there as well would be appreciated.

It’s entirely possible your ferritin (iron) has also tanked, which causes a thing called air hunger that feels entirely physiological. I’d be getting blood tests for sure. Don’t assume it’s the Reta, either. Anyone can suddenly develop an issue.

I had major lung issues 3.5 years ago to a extremely case of double pneumonia that had me in ICU for 2 weeks. Shit almost killed me. Got lung tested for COPD and a few others about 4 months after that, all good. Just got tested again about a year ago, did better. Been on Reta for pushing 4 months. Still no issues. All that said and moral here, you need to that checked out.

I had a serious pulmonary embolism in 2020, that began to develop within days of receiving my second dose of Pfizer. (see PMC11399239)

That permanently impacted my lung capacity. Subjectively, it feels like I've been at 85% capacity since. I ran blood thinners, then a lot of NAC, nattokinase, fish oil, and iodine in the hopes of preventing recurrence. Note that I am a tobacco and nicotine user as well, which didn't help. 235lbs starting 6' male.

Starting reta 3wks ago seemed to improve my breathing. Breathing through my nose is much easier. Worth noting that I responded well and didn't have any GI issues.

I also supplement pretty agressively, methyl B12, magnesium and calcium, d3 k2, zinc and copper, sodium and potassium, TMG, fish oil.

I would suspect a nutrition issue before I suspect the reta, but anything is possible. Good luck!

Like the others have said you should definitely consult someone who graduated from medical school.

Was that Pfizer a covid deal? I smoked for 47 years, and didn't want to stop. Two weeks in ICU and another week in the hospital and not being able to breathe along with a few other complications will make you stop. I would never preach to anyone about smoking, but stopping was the best thing I've done.

Yes, it was.

I believe you. I've put down a lot of things worse than smoking, and I've never been a regular full time smoker. Currently vaping. I can see myself quitting, just not right now.

I totally understand. I didn't want to quit either, enjoyed it too much. I smoked cowboy killers. I couldn't believe I had zero desire to smoke when I got out. My wife would've killed me if I did. I call it my $500K quit smoking program, and I don't recommend it.

Getting some labs w/ your doc would be a good idea, a standard health check up (and just getting an idea of what your 'baseline' is) is a great rational if asked why you are making the appointment. You could mention you used a compounded / telehealth GLP-1 but not dig in further. The elevated HR that comes w/ Reta may be a factor but outside of an allergic reaction you might be experiencing a red flag that needs to be addressed for a health issue unrelated to reta....so, visit a doctor for a checkup asap!

We're all not getting any younger 🙂

Been on Reta for 12+ months. Was never a smoker. no lung issues or shortness of breath. I get my blood tested every 4-5 months, for nutrition (70+ indicators). I feel it is an essential road map for my health in general.

Are you staying hydrated and taking digestive enzymes?
