Recently I came across sterile vial discussions including the term of pyrogens, it being suggested that sterile vials (or the claim of them if you don’t trust Amazon or Ali products) are inferior to non-pyrogenic / depyrogenated / pyrogen-free vials, as not only are they ensured sterile, but also takes the sterility to an additional level.

Clearly my interest was piqued and I dug into it to verify. These types of vials are what are exclusively used for endotoxin texting and the like in labs- if I’m looking to satisfy any question that my vials are sterile AF, these are the ticket.

As I have 8 kits on the way, and will eventually be filtering all of these peps into new vials, I was in the market. I really only found 1 company that was public facing that produced non-pyrogenic 3mL vials, FireGene. You have to email them for shipping quotes and to place an order. Vials are $9.90/set of 10, but shipping was $50 so I kept digging.

Subsequently I found AstorScientific which sells the FireGene vials at the same price per set, and was only $25 shipping. I bit. Spread across 10 sets, it’s only $1.24/vial and 1000% peace of mind that my vials are sterile AF.
This may not be necessary or helpful to all, but those looking for that peace of mind, hopefully this helps you too.

TL;DR The most sterile vials you can buy are non-pyrogenic. You can get them for $9.90/set of 10 from AstorScientific. Direct product link: https://www.astorscientific.us/products/pyrogen-free-vials-aspfv003?variant=42717428908109

to make sure I understand, I see it says that the vials are "endotoxin free" but that doesn't mean it would eliminate endotoxins already present in the peptide you put into the vial correct?

I understand the concern for sterility when buying from Amazon, according to a video I watched, it's theorized the risk is that those vials and their stoppers are manufactured "sterile" but sellers are buying each component in bulk and than assembling them together in a warehouse and this is where you can run into risk of contamination and yet still claim sterility.

This is the best price I could find for depyrogenated vials. They have 2 mL and 5 mL, but no 3's.

Correct, nothing is safely going to do that. This is simply a way to have extremely high confidence that the efforts of reconstituting and filtering aren’t compromised by pushing sterile juice into an un-sterile environment.

Yeah I saw those, but find 2mL less efficient and 5mL for most of my applications to be impractical with excessive air space, and they are both more expensive.

I bought 25 of each to get discount.

I only buy ALK vials

Are you paying the extra intentionally for the Amber glass? If so, while I see benefit if the product was consistently being exposed to light, but if they are otherwise stored in a sealed dark container & space, what other benefit do those 4x the cost provide?

Still, they were more than $1.24ea including shipping 😉

No.. I only buy the clear vials
They are expensive but at least I have peace of mind
I suggest ALK because that's the ones ThermoFisher sells (rebranded) so the quality is top notch

So, what's in the 80 vials or 8kits?

do the 2ml fit the pep after the reconstitution?

For me, yes. I keep my pin volumes low and never use more than 2 mL of BAC, except for KLOW or GHK-Cu, and I use the 5 ml vials for that.

great! thanks. I was unsure how full it would be if I added bac and thought 2ml would be too small
