Package held for Mailability

It's not a good sign. The USPS uses this status / tactic to verify that the postage is legitimate / not counterfeit or the USPIS believe something naughty is inside.
Yeah, from what I read and understand, worst-case scenario is usually just confiscation. Best case may be a temporary delay or return to sender for postage.

The best thing about perfect-looking pucks is they don't look like crack rocks. Single vials are also labeled, so that helps them seem less nefarious compared to some other possibilities.

Another worst-case scenario, from Reddit (four years ago):

I was scammed. The person purposely put wrong postage and something liquid inside knowing it would be pulled from the mail system.

Also from Reddit:

Just as a heads up while this status can be caused by the packaging not meeting USPS standards (wrong size, weight, etc.) It is also often a sign that something "suspicious" was found inside.

So if you had anything in that package you may not want to get in trouble for... well, let it go and do not reach out.

I've had two other orders with them go seamlessly. This is a USPS issue.
Did they ever use Priority Mail packaging with a Ground Advantage label? (I have had a B/S/T reseller do that, but it was fine. Another reason I avoid B/S/T though.)

Yeah, single vial sellers are notoriously suspect even for repeat orders, unless they are recommended here or some TG resellers that I can't name. The good single vial sellers will have a group on TG or elsewhere, which gives them some transparency and real-time reviews. And a single vial of R30 could be $30 or so. Some of the TG resellers who sell singles will also sell kits and do GBs.

I don't see how vendor is relevant. I've had two other orders with them go seamlessly. This is a USPS issue.
It is relevant to the vendor on both issues I stated in my post. #1. If the postage is not valid or counterfeit it's a vendor issue. #2. If the Feds are monitoring/inspecting/seizing this vendors shipments it's a vendor issue now. Not trying to fear monger but just looks like things I've seen on other "markets".

Mind telling us which vendor this happened with?

It could be relevant, if the postage turns out to be counterfeit.

Pushing the OP to name the vendor when he or she has a no source discussion tag is just going to get him or her in trouble on the forum.

@sofaKINGnoob you also have a no source tag. Best to drop it for now or take it to DMs.

I'm not pushing anyone to reveal anything. I am simply pointing out the obvious reason the vendor might be the problem, and that it's still an unknown at this point.

If it does turn out to be counterfeit postage, I really do hope the source is revealed. By that time hopefully FastQuarter has the source tag cleared. Not looking good at 6 posts in 5 months, though...

Shipment was seized. Vendor reshipped at 50% off. Fingers crossed. Used a different name and address this time.

At destination city. USPS held for mailability, but then sent a letter saying it would be withheld.

Is the vendor on this forum? Are they based in China or domestic? For your sake I hope they are smart enough to change their shipping protocol / details after this... but if they're dumb they'll use the same account to buy postage with and outcome will be the same as the last shipment.

Domestic vendor. I'm happy with 50% reship. Not their fault it was seized. They've been around for a while. I'm sure they're taking steps to mitigate loss.

We are after all, ordering questionably legal Chinese mystery powder on the gray market. WTF does everyone expect?? This isn't Costco.

I've never heard of a domestic shipment being seized before, new fear unlocked.

USPS held for mailability - What This Status Means
  • Suspicion of Illegal Contents: Often used for suspected illegal drugs or cannabis, allowing for inspection without a warrant.
  • Prohibited/Improper Items: The package may contain items that are non-mailable, hazardous, or mislabeled (e.g., using Media Mail for non-media items).
  • Physical Inconsistency: The package may have failed automated processing due to improper packaging or sizing

Well if you're happy with that, that's all that matters my friend. Keep us posted with how the reship goes.

You are only assuming that. I am a subcontractor of the comany in EU. Usps doesn't use any tactics to verify anything. Especially they won't even bother what is inside if it is a domestic shipping. They give to authorities for inspection, if it is an obviously suspect package(for instance, smell cannabis). They are also not allowed to open and check any package themselves. Somehow it can be lost at distribution center or label has been lost or damaged. It can sometimes be delivered to a wrong adress. But that is not the case. Because then, it will be updated as delivered on tracking.

I do not know how the different postal systems work in the EU but you are completely wrong about the Government operated USPS mail system in the USA. There is literally a whole law enforcement agency within it with the sole purpose to inspect & investigate illegal items in the mail including counterfeit postage plus fraud related crimes. The OP even in this very same thread updates the situation that it was in fact "seized".

Sorry friend. My bad! I am a subcontractor of UPS. I thought it was the same. But appearantly not! I don't know anything about it. I have realised that it wasn't the same after you said that it was government operated. It is not wise to choose it for shipping of peptides if it is operated by government.

Reship was successful. Still USPS. Vendor exceeded their own policy and reshipped at no charge. Vendor was ALways responsive and really stepped up to make sure i was taken care of.
Now we definitely want to know the vendor! Maybe you can at least write a positive review and mention the free reship.
