Just a little backstory, a little over a month ago I made my first grey purchase and ended up getting a refund from my seller because it was stopped at customs. By now I’ve given up on receiving it.

I understand that it may not always happen, but with it being my first order that got stopped by customs I’ve developed a few questions for those more experienced than me.

Q1). How often does customs become an issue? Do I just have bad luck?

Q2). Would I be better off to start a peptide research company so that I’d have a better shot at getting things into the US from overseas? Would having a company even help?

Q3). Should I just find a good warehouse in the US to order from? Realistically I’d love to do this but all of the warehouses in the states seem to be bone dry right now..

US is definitely easier and if you find a few vendors you trust, you can usually fine the major peps in stock within a week or two. If you want something less popular, you may have to wait longer or go with China. This is the route I prefer. I have ordered from China but, at the point, I would rather wait a bit for things to be in stock and pay a little more than deal with China shipping.

Historically the rate of customs confiscation has been pretty low but, anecdotally, it seems to be ticking up a bit. I think your chances are pretty good of it getting through, but you never know. It probably won't be smooth though. Express shipping seems to have less issues if you're willing to pay the extra.

1. Lately a lot, enough so that a lot of US warehouses are struggling to restock.

2. No, this only increases your exposure to legal risk !

3. Yes, absolutely. Lower shipping costs and very similar pep costs in general (I'm referring to CN vendors with US warehouses vs true US resellers).

I've placed 5 orders since last fall. 3 of them have arrived and 2 are still en route. My average transit time to Kansas has been 11 days. 4 of the 5 orders are from my original vendor, with the last one a new vendor that had a great price on Tirz for my stockpile. I trust the shipping from my original vendor so if there are any issues with the new vendor I will just stick with what I have experience with.

OP - the same thing happened to me!

My very first pepper order from China was seized by customs. The seller refunded me - so all was well there except for the month of waiting.

I placed my second order with a different vendor from China and got my delivery to the US in 12 days.

I think bad luck. In the past 2.5 years I have had about 25 overseas packages and no customs issues. All made it through first time. Half of the packages were peptides from china and other half Indian pharma out of India or UAE.

Us warehouses of Chinese vendors can be well priced but I agree limited stock lately.

There are a few “vendors” I’ve seen pop up on Facebook of all places lately and I really want to make a post asking about them if anyone has any experience because they seem reasonably priced.

My issue is I’m still under “no source discussion” and I really don’t want to violate rules because I’m super appreciative of this community.

I wouldn't really trust any FB pop-ups myself.

I have gotten 2 orders from China in the last couple of months, no issues. Took about 10-12 days. Just put in another order with a vendor I used in the past on April 24th, got the shipping label on the 27th. Still haven't seen it hit the transfer point in the US. Just reached out to the vendor and they said it is being inspected by customs, and they won't know for a few days whether it will be seized. Vendor said they paid extra to get it through customs, we will see if that works for them or not.
