The GYC advertising here is real, not an impersonator.
Impersonation scams are disturbingly common and prevalent, and require constant vigilance from buyers to avoid getting scammed. These scammers take advantage of people who don't know better, are in too much of a rush to make a purchase, or who are too desperate to miss the obvious warning signs.
Unfortunately, as the saying goes, you can lead them to water but can't make them drink.
There are countless posts here describing various scams, as well as tried-and-true methods to help avoid scams and make sure the sales rep/company being contacted is the real one, including only using contact info/links posted here. While nothing is 100% fool-proof, some basic precautions can mean the difference between a good transaction or getting ripped off.
One of the first steps to avoiding being scammed is to SLOW DOWN, take the time to learn and understand everything about making a purchase, and be extremely careful about where and how you get a vendor's contact information.

Yeah...that is not what the article said. It said that the website was linking to information about the real GYC here to give it credibility. It did not place any blame on this forum. This is one of the few good sources for vendor information. Please be sure you are at least reading the article correctly before suggesting otherwise.
