Worst constipation in my life. Please help me or share your experience.

I had problems even before I started taking reta but then it became so much worse. Generic Miralax, psyllium husk, ground chia seeds, magnesium citrate supplements and pear juice are some of the things that have really helped my issues lately. Drinking enough liquids also helps, which I am REALLY bad at.

to add to what everyone els is already saying. i know for me i was already eating 40ish grams of fiber before tirz stopped me up. had to add even more BUT adding in a digestive enzyme supplement with my meals and adding pre/pro biotic rich foods and supplements really helped me a TON!
the fiber and hydration are the main things. but for me the last little bit to help keeping my gut happy and healthy was so important

If you have tolerance issues with any of the stuff anyone has mentioned up to now, you can get ozonated magnesium from Amazon for $10 or so. The name of the product is Oxytone by Horbaach. You can take anywhere from 1-3 capsules to move things along up to 5-10 to prep for a colonoscopy. Start with one capsule with a tall glass of water and titrate up daily. Don't massively up your dose, especially if you're not working from home. Shit works, and is very predictable once you know how it works with your body.

Yeah, I second what my BFF Neuro said above, @deiwukas. Miralax didn't work for me either.
So what did you do finally?
I pushed so hard it was very painful, blood squirted from my gums on the toilet floor, I mean I pushed very very hard and I know I should not do it, but I had no other choice, its like I ate a tree branch, I even wanted to investigate wtf was that, but after I "unclogged" there was diarrhea on top of that log, so I could not check.

damn man...sorry..yeah thats the type where suppositories and enema type resolutions are needed. Stock up on mirafast

I will drink forlax everyday now just right after my coffee with butter. Forlax has Makrogol 4000, but I guess its the same thing as what is in Miralax.
Someone also suggested taurine, I checked it and it could help me, so I will add it to the list of supplements I will buy.
I will also check the senna tea. Thank for all the tips and tricks.

I have Mag07, but again, everytime I read about it it says that it should not be used daily, as in the long run it will just make my gut lazy. I say on reddit there are people who say that they use it daily, like one capsule a day, but I wonder what would happen if they stopped, maybe after a long time of usage it would make you naturally more constipated and I am afraid of it, I dont want to use anything that could make it worse in a long run.

Started reta on 04/08 .5 mg. Always had problems with constipation, only remember having good quality poop time during times when i consistently did not eat foods like ice cream, pizzas, alcohol and cola. By quality poop I mean I go to the toilet mostly every 7-9 days. Mostly it is a bigger poop, but not scary or impossible to pass.

Now on reta I made a big mistake and ate ice-cream few days in a row. Now I had an ass destroyer shit on 05/10, I felt like i cant pass it so i used medicine, which helped me, but still, the experience was not pleasure. Now today on 05/19 (even though i had good food and no alcohol during these 9 days, also no poop) I had even worse experience. Currently on 2mg reta. So my thinking is reta makes me poop too hard, its not reta fault, I know my body is just like that.

I have already bought mag07, but internet suggest to not use it constantly. I really don't know what to do, reta works and I want to keep using it, but I also don't want to have such problems ever again, of course I stopped eating ice-cream/milk. The only thing which has lactose in my diet is probably butter/ghee.

Do you have any suggestions on how could I improve my gut? Any similar experiences and how did you made it better? My main concern is that my next toilet experience will be one which will either rip my ass or give me some kind of different problems, because I never pushed so hard as today.
Prunes and Prune juice helped me.

For immediate relief go to walmart or CVS and buy a few bags of russel stovey candy.

This will absolutely liquify the contents of your guts. Mercy on your soul.

Long term happiness of pooping will absolutely depend on your gut flora.

Eat kimchi, drink kefir and kombucha.

I am from Lithuania, we don't have russell stover candy. But why would it help, you mean chocolate would help, or what, why this candy in particular? I am allergic to chocolate/cacao and I don't eat sugar, so I don't know how would this candy work for me.

I totally agree with you, I must eat more fermented foods and soups. I am afraid kefir will destroy me, as it may have lactose.

Do you have access to Mirafast?

Do you have access to Mirafast?
No, but I can buy MAALOX, which is aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide, so its not the same, but there is no equivalent closer to Mirafast.

Do you have a colon disease? If not, try 5-6g inulin.

Potato or green banana resistant starch also helps.

Ok. I don’t have any advice, but I do have a very funny story that recently happened related to constipation. If nothing else, it will help you feel less alone in your struggles.

My family is very tight knit, and sometimes boundaries are a struggle. So my uncle was on Tirz through his doc for about a year, then he stopped it for four months. His A1C went back up and he restarted it, but for some reason they started him back at 7.5mg rather than slowly building him up which led to extreme constipation. He tried laxatives, stool softeners, fiber gummies, and a suppository but none of it worked.

He was in so much pain that he wanted to go to the hospital, but someone convinced him to just do an at home enema. So he does two of those, poops in the shower, whatever it’s fine. All better.

Later that day, he and his family leave for a road trip. My mom warns him that he needs to wear a diaper because of all the stool softeners, laxatives, etc. He refuses because he doesn’t believe it’s even possible to have anything else come out. Whatever, he’s a grown up, he can do what he wants.

So my dad happens to be driving down the highway and passes their car which is stopped on the side of the road, so he stops to see if they’re broken down or something. He is unaware of the poop situation. He’s just thinking maybe they need help changing a tire. So he walks up to the car and my uncle is naked from the waist down and completely covered in poop. It is everywhere. My dad is horrified. My uncle is horrified. This isn’t what anyone signed up for. My dad, being the good person that he is, offers them whatever assistance he can. My uncle rides home in a coat covering his lower body.

So basically, the moral of the story is “listen to my mom” and “you have way more poop in you than you think”

Everyone is giving good advice.

Water, water, water and more water.

After you get regular by any means possible (don't get impacted).

Here is a good maintenance protocol that works for me.

Miralax in coffee or whatever drink every other day (everyday to begin with)

A handful of roasted, salted pumpkin seeds (found by the sunflowers) eaten whole, daily

A liberal drop of Castor oil in the belly button (seriously), I also mix some Castor oil with a bit of olive oil (works as a carrier) and slather it on my belly before bed (wear a shirt afterwards)...works great on my loose skin and really does help with movements.

Seriously? I always wondered where the belly button goes, now I know 😂.

I’m not sure if there is a lot of science behind this, but the medical establishment tends to reject homeopathic remedies in general and we know that these remedies often work.

Thanks for sharing.

Kimchi, broccoli, or cabbage, are my go to meals. I try to make them the star of every meal I cook at home.

Try to eat as much vegetables and salad as you used to eat ice cream. High fiber vegetables can help to create a healthier intestinal system.

Fiber works great, but vegetables will provide more bulk to flush out your digestive tract. They are for the most part low in carbs.

Taking a fiber supplement without enough water will add to your problems.

Lastly, Kiefer shouldn’t have any lactose left after the lactobacillus consume it all. Kiefer has the ability to recolonize the digestive tract with beneficial bacteria that will make your digestive system more efficient.

Water, and lots of it. I eat 2-3 prunes right after every meal/snack. Miralax mixed with prune juice instead of water every other day, Psyllium husk mixed with prune juice, sometimes mixed with water. Stir and drink immediately twice a day. I also throw in the occasion Costco stool softeners when I remember it. And for those occasions when all of that is not enough, those little waxy suppositories always seem to make the dam burst and get things moving again. The ones from Walgreens seem to work the best for me. My system was already bad, Triz and Reta made it worse but I am managing it.

Seems like it's going to be pellets for life!

I've never had these issues until I started reta, then it was like wow, i'm going to need to address this. Three psyllium husk pills in the am with a magnesium citrate pill, same at night before bed and I'm perfectly in balance now.

I second the guys asking about your hydration. Gotta drink a ton of water with this stuff.

I was lactose intolerant, and kefir actually cured me from that.

Over 20 years ago my gut microbiome got wiped out by a course of antibiotics and everything came to a halt.
By chance, someone offered me some genuine kefir grains and I began making my own kefir -- so easy! It became my cure.

At the time, some of the only information available was from quirky Dominic Anfiteatro from Adelaide, South Australia who was a kefir enthusiast and great storyteller.
I loved his quirkiness -- and his parts of his site are still kept going by his family.

I think they mean sugar free candy. Sugar free candies use sugar alcohols instead of sugar. Sugar alcohols are well known to cause diarrhea.

It sounds counterintuitive but eat more food and try to incorporate more walking/more movement or cardio. Increase water intake, w/every meal try to get 1-2 cups water in, 1 cup before, 1 cup after. Electrolytes in drink is better and/or salting food helps.

I had this issue until I started walking ~2 mi a day (walking to work moved to a new place etc.) + inc carb. Incorporate more cereal, whole grain braid, oatmeal, rice, beans in your diet and it will make a huge difference. I also recommend eating more yogurt.

I do not consume any caffeine, own no Magnesium supps. And ppl recommending supplements aren't attacking the root problem, it's just a Band-Aid.

And if you have control, you can also adjust your current level of Tz/glp down, I had bad GI effects on 10 adjust down to 7.5 and I'm cruising.

Man that sucks. When it happe s to me I use lactulose, 3 tbsp at bed and rhen down a large glass of water and I'm reasy to go in the AM and am clear as rain.

Psyllium husks powder does the trick for me. Coffee helps things move along. Drink more than 100oz of water every day
