Folks who have reached or gotten close to their goal, how did you proceed? Did you cycle off? Stay at a low dose?

I dropped a lot of weight fast after hitting 4mg on Reta and am 5lbs from my goal.

A sweet lady at my gym is absolutely unrecognizable (mega props to her but she looks awfully gaunt to me) after what must be a journey on glps, and I don’t want to take it too fast, so I’m thinking about taking taking some time off before proceeding with another injection.

I simply cut my tirz dose in half. I miss the feeling of the full dose but I don't wanna lose any more weight.

Is 5 more lbs going to make a material difference to you though? Why not hit the goal and then start going the maintenance route? I mean obviously when you get close to goal, 5 lbs is a higher percentage, I get that, but even on an absolute level I guess I could just gain that much in a day if I had an extra piece of pizza lol

You’re right. It’s not a lot. I should have mentioned that I’m 5’1” and have struggled to lose that “last 10 pounds” my entire adulthood so it probably feels more significant to me. 🤣

When I get down to my target weight range, I plan on moving my dose down. I do not anticipate "cycling off" as I think that's a fundamentally poor idea for someone who will have lost 90-100lb.

I am not worried about nailing my maintenance dose the first week. Cut the dose down, evaluate, adjust... my target weight is a range, not a specific number. I'm ok with the weight ranging a bit before settling in for the long haul.

Record weights day to day, make adjustments based on simple moving averages vs daily noise.

I’m staying on a low dose the rest of my life. I’m on a low dose now. But still 50lbs from my goal weight. When I see all my abs I’m done.

I really think my abs are just a folk story at this point. I just want to look down and see my toes again. #small steps forward. 🙂

I reached my goal weight, stayed at 7.5 mg this went on for a few months, recently I went down to 5mg (tirz), (for two weeks) lastnight I had pretzels with cheese sauce dip, and m&ms, so took 7.5 mg since it was due. I found myself craving snacks that reminded me of the old me. I think the only reason I didn’t gain weight back these past 2 weeks is because I got the menopause in order, but if I keep up the snacking where will I be.
I’m staying at 7.5 for now.
I don’t feel like snacking today, maybe my maintenance is 7.5, I’ll be working on 5mg but slower paced.

I think it's best to make sure you balance cardio, stretching, and weight lifting (toning) when you are doing any type of dieting or weight loss. The hard part is finding out how much your body can handle. Everyone is different and has struggles to overcome.

My goal weight is under 200lb. My target composition/weight is to see abs of any description in any lighting, projecting somewhere in the 180-190lb range based on DEXA and body fat percentage projections. Currently 226lb, started at 282lb 23 weeks ago.

Semantically, to me at least, goals are pass/fails while targets are something you shoot for and see how close you come to the bullseye.

I reached my fat loss goal a while ago I'm just trying to recomp and get abs now. Gonna get as thin/jacked as naturally possible and then hop on steroids and get jackeder.
Pretty much where I am at!

Are you noticing that the Reta is helping with recomp?
100%. I'm on 4mg/wk split 2/2 sun/wed. Just enough to turn off food noise and not be an alcoholic. I can focus on my macros and putting away 200g of protein. I can still eat more food than most humans, by a lot, but I just don't want to anymore.

I've maintained for over a year now on 5 mg of Tirz every three days. Just recently, my body has started to go down below my set of 150 lbs, not by much, but for over a year I was fluctuating between 150 and 155 lbs. All great for me - I didn't/don't need to lose more - but my body has decided a little below 150 is fine for me too and occasionally now goes as low as 147. I will be watching my body of course so it doesn't go too low, but since I've been in maintenance for over a year at the 5 mg every three days - it seems to be working well for me.

Interesting how the set point can change over time! Thanks for sharing your experience.

Same, getting closer and will never stop myself. I'm down 42lbs with maybe 10 to go.

I reached my goal weight and am tapering off slowly. I was sick of being in caloric deficit and I want to let my body adjust and accept this new weight as normal so im going back to maintenance for a few months and reassess. Right now i just want to go to gym and do sports without being in a deficit. Will probably try another body recomp within 4 months.
