I have a few sets coming and I want to freeze them. Reta, Tirzep, NAD and BC10. I have three different freezers in my home and they all auto defrost. It sounds like Auto Defrost could damage the peps. Does anyone own or have experience with a great small freezer that will work for my long term Peptide storage needs.

Lypholized peps are going to be fine. Janoshick even mentioned a shelf life of years at room temp, doubt a defrost cycle is going to have any impact. I've noticed no loss of potency in my freezer stored peps
Thank you. This is one of those ones with many opinions. I figured for 200 bucks having a designated freezer could be worth it. But if you think it’s ok, that is a big step in the right direction.

How long does the auto-defrost defrosting on a freezer last, anyway? Would an airtight thermos jar (like a hydrapeak or something similar) protect the peps from that fluctuation? My chest freezer doesn't have an auto-defrost but that's how I store mine because it's easy, solid, and convenient.

If you are really looking for long term storage you want a freezer that will consistently hold -20c. Peptides are very stable but Freeze/Refreeze is not supposed to be good for them. With auto-defrost the temps can fluctuate quite a bit which isn't ideal. If you are shooting for a few years, it probably doesn't matter. If you want more like 8-10 you probably want the -20 without auto-defrost. Theoretically at least, none of this has been tested with common peps.

This little thing has been great.

What are the the little boards your containers are sitting on? They look like some form of ice pack. Can you send a link for those or tell me why you use them? Why not just put containers on the racks. I’m guessing they are for temperature control and distribution. BTW. My freezer is maintaining a solid -20F.

I read something to the effect of a defrost cycle lasting 15-30 minutes with the coils warming to 40's but the air temperature is averaging 30 so you would assume peps in a thermos would be unaffected even if air temp got to 40 for several hours.

I keep mine in hydrapeak containers with ice packs in the bottom. Thought being that even if the temp increases during a defrost cycle, the container should stay at relatively the same temp.

Agreed...Until I became smitten with a little top-loading-freezer, my plan was a airtight pelican case clone with a little insulation inside. I figured that the frost free cycles would not seriously lower the temperature inside the case... 👍

Once my stash gets a little bigger, I may need to go that route. Right now we have an extra fridge/freezer that is just overflow food...and peptides, lol.

If anyone is interested this is the freezer we decided to buy to dedicate to our Pepitides sets. We spent way too much time searching for one that will do the job.

If you keep the peps on the bottom level it hold -20f perfectly. We added the plastic ice packs in too. Don’t forget to dial down the temperature to full cold. The dial is in the back of the freezer.

Bill
It says in your Amazon link -10 is the lowest setting.

Yeah, I saw the dial. It goes to 6. On 6, it's a little loud, and it gets down to -15 or -20. On 4, it's around -10 or -11. It's quite a bit quieter. I feel like that extra 9 degrees is not that important. Maybe I'm wrong.

It goes to 6.

I believe it’s a number setting. 1-7 And you are correct. I have temp gauges. The middle and upper level sits around -10 and the bottom is a solid -20.

Great point. I agree with that assessment. But it’s not that noisy to us. So we are full throttle cold. I believe ive read that -20 to -50 is the sweet spot. But -10 is solid.
