Today is my 1 year anniversary. I've lost a total of 75 pounds (HW275, SW 250, CW 175, GW 150, 12mg reta/wk, 3mg cagri/ wk).

I discovered that I have bones underneath all that now gone cushion. Now when I lay in bed on my side, I feel hip bones stick out. I didn't even know I had hip bones. Sometimes, I just caress the tops of them before I go to sleep in utter amazement that they're there. When I'm trying to go to sleep in the fetal position, my knees knock together and I have to sleep with them off-set so they don't touch. I lay on my back and can feel my rib cage stick out and this weird nub that sticks out of the bottom of my sternum (wtf, it that thing?). When I'm fixing my collar of my shirt, I feel collar bones that seem strangely unprotected. Sitting on a hard surfaces is extremely uncomfortable as my butt bones have no cushion and it feels like I'm sitting directly on the bones. I don't look like a skeleton yet, but I see my orbital and cheek bones popping out. With the loss of all the insulation (and probably a down shift in my metabolism), I'm always freezing cold and I go to bed a half an hour earlier, just to feel the warm embrace of my electric blanket.

Lots of positives: blood panels are good, BP almost too low, essentially quite drinking. But all these bones: I'm not sure if it's a positive or a negative side effect.

Yes, same! I'm down 96lbs and while I still have about 30 to go, it's so bizarre to feel hip bones and ribs and not be able to sleep with my knees against each other. Also cold all the time but I'm sort of excited that we have some hotter weather coming up so I can test out how much better I can deal with it. I've always done very poorly in heat so I'm particularly excited about this part.

It's a wonderful feeling isn't it?! Well done.
My hubs say he feels like I'm going to break now when he hugs me, lol, I tell him I'm probably stronger over all than I was when I was fatter, just a lot less of me to hug.
Hi there, Off topic but... I was telling my wife about your hair color post I can't find it the one with your before and after pics can you point me to it?

this is so funny! especially the sternum comment.... WTF is that 🤣🤣 . I feel you on the bones....i haven't lost very much weight so far but I went to inject in my belly yesterday and found that there's alot less to grab onto 😲 I had to pull my shirt up and make sure I was still there!

When I first noticed my sternum I was freaked out I though something was wrong with me... 🙂

Too funny 🤣 🤣 the first time I felt was crazy. We went to eat. The seating was chairs. My butt used to be to big for chairs. 🤣🤣🤣 I was actually secretly want to sit in a chair because I could. Omg 5 minutes in I was begging for a booth. It felt so weird and kinda hurt but not my normal hurt. My husband asked me why I was wiggling around a 2 year old, and asked what my problem is. He said people are staring. You're embarrassing me. 🤣🤣🤣 I whispered my butt feels weird and hurts. His comment..... I could have told you it wouldn't because you have no padding now. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I wanted to slap him in the head with my spoon. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 So now I carry a huge purse so I always have a cushion with me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 People look at me all crazy. It makes me want to shake my new butt at them. 🤣🤣🤣
Ok story time is over. Back to my quiet self. LoL

It's called a xiphoid process and I scared the shit out of myself awhile back thinking I had cancer when I found mine.

I could have written OP's post myself. I made all the same discoveries. Sitting on a hard floor is painful now. The good news is that I can get up from the floor now, very easily and quickly.

One other thing I noticed: Looking at my face in the mirror, my ears kept getting bigger in over the months I was losing weight.

I'm down 72 now and I lost my ass, literally. I have a nice desk chair for work and I can't sit in it for longer than 15-20 minutes now. My car seat is a pain in what's left of my ass, and I have to recline the recliner to take the pressure off when I watch TV. My ribs feel like they can puncture my skin from the inside. The good news is that I now fit an airplane seat without being pinned against the arms. The tradeoff is real, but I'm getting used to it.

yes....Ozempic ass is real! I have a really nice, used to be comfy recliner. now it feels like I am sitting on block of concrete.

I noticed this week when I had to fly in a particular narrow seat that the outside of my elbows now have no cushion. They hurt to push against the arm rests.

And massages don’t feel as good anymore.

I am a side sleeper and now my the bones in my knees touch and bother me when I lay down. May need to invest in one of those pillows that go between your legs. Also, my clavicles are very pronounced now..

2 things ive noticed. For my whole life i couldnt sense my own pulse. I can now. And laying in bed i thought i has a intestinal lump or something. Turned out it was the top of my hip bone at a slight angle. Lol its the little things

I haven’t seen this mentioned so —. 75 year old M. Tirz since Aug 2025. Down 50 most days. My butt has disappeared and bones have reappeared. The most dramatic visible change for me is veins. They are everywhere. Running up and down my calves. My arms look like they may have rivers or creeks running through them. Anywhere I look there are those blueish tubes under my skin.
