Scammers sliding into your DM’s?

This has been covered, but since I just had a scammer try their luck on Telegram, let’s cover it again.

If/when you join a vendor’s group on Telegram/Discord/whatever other platform, the admins/sales reps/agents for that vendor will not dm you first.

If someone sends you a message « Welcoming you to the group » and introducing themselves….
They are a scammer.

They will have the same profile pic as one of the reps. Look at their user name. It will be very similar to the rep they’re are impersonating. They may include a price list. They will seem very nice.

Do not fall for it.

We had the happen for a while on a site I'm a mod. They usually just add a . period to the username.
