The thread about diet on Reta/Tirz inspired me to open that thread. I remember while being on keto diet, my food noise was severe, compared to the current state, while on Reta. Anyway I was very strict, but from time to time, I just had to make some cheat, to not to go completely crazy. Back then I was going to some low quality take aways and was pleasing myself by some dirty kebabs. As being on keto, I didn't order any chips/fries, just a double doner meat, with veggies and tons of sauce...the cheaper, dirtier, more processed and unhealthy it was, the more pleasure I got 😆 Cureently I completely lost any desire for this kind of stuff. I eat completely blunt, tasteless, but healthy food and do not care at all. It is just a chore, not a source of joy anymore. But, the only "guilty pleasure" and exception for me is a small bag (30g) of popcorn I treat myself a couple times a week, when got a slight feeling, I would snack something. Eating such a small bag is a perfect dose, to have no cravings at all...do you have your guilty pleasure guys, or you completely don't need any, while on Glp-1?

Being from Ireland, I'm surprised you didn't mention booze as a guilty pleasure🤣. Half of my ancestory is from Irish descent, so no disrespect intended, but there is certainly a nice drinking culture there. When I'm in Dublin, I love to go out drinking, more for the festivities, music, and social aspect, than over indulging. It's a beautiful country.

So, my guilty pleasure has been alcohol. The first 6-8 months on glp1-s I couldn't stand the taste of alcohol anymore. But the taste has returned in a limited fashion. I can drink a glass or two of wine now, or some Irish whiskey. I drink the whiskey with water or on the rocks as to not add any calories. I consider it my guilty pleasure because there is absolutely no nutritional value in alcohol that I'm aware.

Well I live in Eire for more than 20 years now, but come from other part of Europe...but on the other hand my original nationality is famous for the love to alcohol even more than Irish 😆 And believe me or not, I've drunk in my life much more than the army of people...but for the last few years I don't drink at all, with a one exception. When on holiday all hell breaks loose, and for a week I'm back to old me...drinking from dusk til down or even longer...beer only, but still...and now I'm concerned a bit, cuz got booked a holiday in Spain in August, and I love to sip their San Miguel for a whole day long, but it will be my first holiday while on Reta....and I'm afraid this time will be no exceptions, cuz have completely no desire to drink anything alcoholic 😐

I wish I had noticed your post before I put mine up lol about the same idea/feelings here with me

I still eat pizza most Saturdays when my grandsons stay over. The difference is, now I can barely finish one piece. I figure a once a week treat isn't going to derail me much.
Yeah, in the same boat. Beforhand I would probably eat the whole bulk bag of this popcorn which is 12 of 30g bags, and it wouldn't be enough to feel full...now 30g of popcorn and I'm absolutely stuffed...

I was the same way when I was on keto. A lot of keto people said that being in ketosis takes away your cravings but it never did me. They also said that while fasting you eventually are not hungry anymore but that never happened either. Food noise was INSANE while I was doing either.
When I started reta I stopped doing keto because it was said that reta works better when you eat carbs. I was pretty strict when I did keto though, because I was afraid of being kicked out of ketosis. Now that I am on reta, if I have a craving I just eat it. The thing is, I don't really have cravings anymore. I hardly even think about food. The only time I get hungry is at night sometimes, but I have never been a daytime eater.
They have always said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that eating after dark is bad but I have come to realize that fighting my body doesn't work for me. I have managed to lose almost 90lbs by doing what comes naturally to me. The reta has really helped me with overeating and not wanting to eat high calorie food all of the time. I believe that it really is as simple as calories in, calories out.

Same here. My first 4-5 mo's on Tirz it seemed like wine, whiskey and cigars all tasted "off". Not good. Not enjoyable. (Important to note, I can't drink at all for months at a time due to work, but then I'm off for months at a time and drink as I wish).

Slowly seemed to change, or maybe my tolerance of the taste changed, I now can enjoy a glass of red wine, a splash of whiskey, or some rum, neat or with a cube of ice. Sometimes with a dash of Grand Marnier to the whiskey for a bit of added sweetness.

I'm exactly the same. When on keto, I had a dreams about eating, and my wife was telling me, that when asleep I was moving my jaws, like I was eating something 😆 All that time I was just starving. It was an everyday struggle. Now I do not suffer anymore, which is a pure redemption. Food is not a matter at all now...

I can still eat! So my not so guilty just pleasure lists are long... But mostly breads, pizza and noodles. Thankfully I can now stop at 1 small pizza and not finish whole large. Win is a win!

Baked goods were an issue for my entire life and although I don't crave them often I'll still eat a cookie or a slice of cake here and there. It is not a problem because it is just 1 cookie or 1 slice of cake rather than 6 cookies or an embarrassingly large fraction of a cake before reta.

That's exactly how it was for me too! It just tasted "off". Not enjoyable.

I'm glad that the taste has returned, although somewhat reduce, which I guess is a good thing.
