Interesting article about tracing the gray market through the block chain.

That is actually really quite good, one of the few mainstream articles I have ever seen with a fairly accurate description on the grey market for peptides, and has some useful info on scale, as I have often wondered just how many people are using grey glp's or grey peptides in general, but there is really no easy way to find out, but $33 million in the last quarter in crypto is at least some idea.

Recently I had someone ask me about my weight loss which turned into them asking me last night if I could give them some as well. I talked them through my process and let them know risks and all that.

For myself I know the risks but this interaction had me lingering on one thought (supplemented by the fact we had just finished the last season of Euphoria), I'm sure there's a non-zero chance that some of these suppliers either currently or in the past had some fentanyl manufacturing going on. The vendor I use recently had one shipment where one peptide was sent but whatever was in the vial was a different peptide.

Been thinking a lot about that, nothing in particular just the feeling of what if. Cross contamination or even a straight up mix up like that could happen. Just funny reading this now (really good article overall), but noting the link of some of them to manufacturing fent.

SSA was the best vendor I had, cheap reliable and no fuss, and was very popular here before they vanished, it was interesting to see they supplied fentanyl precursors, but realistically cross contamination with peptides and fentanyl has to be very unlikely . The processes used and even the machines are going to be different, cross contamination from a different peptide is far more likely, from inadequate cleaning of the machine when switching from one peptide to another for example.

Peter to the rescue,

Janoshik and the collapse of independent safety testing

While the financial infrastructure of the gray-market peptide ecosystem has matured, the risk management of its participants has declined. This dynamic is best illustrated by examining the on-chain footprint of Janoshik. Operating out of Czechia, Janoshik is widely recognized as the gold standard for independent chemical purity testing within the underground peptide and steroid communities. Since 2023, wallets suspected to be associated with the laboratory have received over $12 million in cryptocurrency for its testing services.

very eye opening article. thanks for posting this! I'm shocked that the vendors crypto is so traceable.
Its incredible easy to trace larger wallets with the right software all you need to do is make one transaction with them and trace from there.

Ive ordered from three suppliers this week with crypto and was very surprised to see that only one of them was using one transaction to one wallet system which at least has potential to make it slightly more difficult.

The other two were just accepting money straight into a single wallet, which was relatively easy to check balances and see where money was going even just with solscan.

They could of course at some point stick it through tornado or something to hide the main wallet so the 100m in this article might not be top of the pyramid.

This article, while interesting, is the harbinger of doom. Chainalysis are serious boys that law enforcement uses against real crypto-enabled crime. This article's primary purpose is providing numbers that the Big Pharma lobbyists can point to when pushing politicians to crack down on the market.

I'm new to peptide scene, but I'm not new to getting drugs in the mail, and the level of OPSEC in this community is absolutely woeful. It is actually the thing that has given me the most pause about getting involved. Pinning untested Chinese chemicals may be less risky than leaving hard evidence of my activity on a transparent chain. Blockchains don't have a half-life and we're only one high profile overdose/fatality away from ceasing to be in a grey and moving to a dark market.

This whole community should be moving wholesale to actual serious privacy technologies such as E2E chats (WhatsApp doesn't count and don't even get me started on the jokes that are Telegram and Discord) and obfuscated blockchains such as Monero. People here will rue the day when they paid their vendors directly from their KYC exchanges.

SSA Bella was my first China relationship. I miss you @bellalala 😭 I know those heart hands were only for me! And I know that was your real picture! Well, maybe not. But a heart can hope.

Me too. so much for my belief that crypto is anonymous.
Wait...I'm paying all those fees and losing money with all my stupid errors swapping coins and figuring out networks and IT'S NOT ANONYMOUS!?!?😵😵😖😖😭😭

* laughing and crying and also resignedly not surprised
