I know, as ridiculous as it is, I saw chicken breasts with a gluten free label on it, not talking breaded stuff, just frozen chicken, lol.

They may as well just save some room on the label and list 'diabetes', 'heart disease', 'systemic inflammation', 'metabolic syndrome' on there. At least most people can pronounce that.
 
One could almost go by price. With the cost of meat nowadays, anything with real complete protein should cost 10x.
Seriously, they're probably re-routing Kitten-k-boodle to the Dorito line. I'm in! Shineyer coat. I love it! ❤️

I was hoping this was something of substance, but this guy might as well have been wearing a tin foil hat. Like big food hasn’t been making foodstuffs more addictive for the last several decades 😂. This isn’t a new thing.

I ate 10 doritos with 10g of protein and I was satisfied. Enjoyed them, but haven’t thought about them again. If that was big foods attempt to make me addicted with crunchy chips like it was crack, I have a message, it didn’t work 😂.

Absolutely! It’s not in response to glp-1s, they’ve been doing it all along. Just like the tobacco industry has added chemcials to cigarettes that make them even more addictive then they are naturally.
 
I am not going to rush out and try them, I might like them. But despite being ultraprocessed food they at least are probably better for you than the same thing without the extra protein. As the protein will fill you up and make you less likely to just keep on eating them until the whole pack is gone. Or are they so carefully designed as to still be just as addictive even with the extra protein? Nearly everything at the supermarket has extra protein versions now, some are actually good like cheese and yoghurt.

I’m on a quest for extra protein cheese, but haven’t seen much of that in the US. Do you have a lot of that in Austrailia? The only thing I have seen in the US is Babybel cheese that says extra protein, but it really doesn’t have any more than the regular version. I love cheese (always have) but have eliminated it mostly from my diet because it’s calorie dense and full of fat.
 
I was at my local Walmart last night and thought I would look for the protein Doritos…. what a trip, I haven’t been down that isle in a long time! Anyway, they didn’t have Doritos, but they did have this…..

Can anyone comment on if these foods contain complete protein with all 9 essential amino acids, or incomplete that lacks tryptophan ? If incomplete, then I'm sure consumers would like to know , and big food would prefer not to say as incomplete is likely more profitable.

Doritos (Frito-Lay) definitely has the money to do a lot of testing and development. When I eat Quest nacho chips, I like the first couple, then I'm like YUK and can't make my way through the bag.

The potato chip ones are like Baked Lays, and the rest are just like slightly flakier Doritos.

Nacho Cheese, Spicy Queso, Mexican Street Corn, Salsa Verde, BBQ, Sweet and Spicy Chili, Sour Cream and Onion, Sour Cream and Cheddar, Taco Supreme.... I like all of them except Ranch (but I think the cool ranch doritos are also foul), Chili lime, pickle and flamin hot.

Easy fix, add cigarettes to your stack and eventually everything starts to taste the same.

My protocol is to front load with 2 packs per day for 10 years and then taper off to 4 packs per month and integrate vaping. Marlboro Reds are a solid choice but most everything from Phillip Morris will do the trick.

No script required either!

My version of “protein Doritos” is using regular Doritos to scoop up cottage cheese, like one would with sour cream.

Can’t eat much of that anymore but when I have a craving, that is my go-to snack.
 
I can't trust/believe anything anymore. Hell, look at my profile picture. I can create a "high protein" label for fucking anything. Don't even need A. I.

I had a look for the high protein doritos but they do not sell them here in the supermarket yet.

There are 2 sorts of high protein cheese I have tried, eat lean, basically pure protein 36g/100g and 3g/100 fat 170 kcal/100g, which does not taste great and is from the UK I think, but nutritionally like eating pure protein powder, and Bega definitely Aus brand at 35g/100g protein and 15g/100g fat and 270 kcal/100g not as low in calorie density but at least it does not taste bad and is 50% of calories from protein so similar to eggs. But given it is a local brand likely not available in the US. It is pretty hard to get lower fat cheeses to taste as nice, and most are still pretty high in fat. My latest trick is adding hydrolysed collagen protein powder to soup more or less no added flavour for extra protein.

A scoop of Pea or soy protein unflavoured , or a mix of both works great with Woolworths Continental Cup A Pasta Mac & Cheese Jalapeño (53g), or similar in the range . Try it , thank me later🙂

I'm glad I quit cigarettes. That said if I'm going to my death give me two cigarettes. The first one will taste like crap. The second one 10 minutes later though...
 
Seems to me that the 'protein craze' is inspired by concern for muscle loss related to weight loss (enhanced by GLP1's) and aging. From what I have heard, eating protein does not prevent or reverse that process. The only effective approach is resistance training. Eating this crap doesn't do it. And all the products mentioned in this thread are ultra high processed foods which are killing us in so many ways

FYI, I am not a foodie fanatic. Nor am I a gym bro of any sort. I'm a 60-ish yr old who lost a ton of weight and based on the above, I lift weights twice a week and eat whatever I want, just less of it. Try to avoid processed food but by no means eliminate it. And work out enough to be effective but much less than I probably should.
