What dose of reta are you at?

I started off at .8mg every 5 days for about 3 weeks, then up to 1.0, 1.3, 1.5 and now 3 months in at 2.0. Certainly not as effective as it once was. Next dose will be 2.5 going on the tail end of 3 months. I'm not necessarily trying to lose weight, I just don't want to crave chocolate/sweets/chips like when I first started.

Your doses are really low in my opinion, and I wonder what a bump from 1 to 1.3 to 1.5 would do. You also get used to the effects/feelings of Reta overtime.

Considering the quite big variations in actual milligrams packaged in vials compared to the advertised amount (R10 having from 8mg to 12mg,) these 0.2mg or 0.3mg bumps are completely meaningless.

Start weight: 215lb (Day 1)
Current weight: 198.2 lb (Day 38)

My reta dosage:
week 1: 1mg every 3 days / ~2.33mg per week
week 2: 1mg every 3 days / ~2.33mg per week
week 3: 1mg every 3 days / ~2.33mg per week
week 4: 1mg every 3 days / ~2.33mg per week
week 5: 1mg every 3 days / ~2.33mg per week

  • week 1 & 2 headache and fatigue was really bad, but dirinking electrolytes, sleeping more helped. I probably should have started lower dosage.
  • week 2 I lost 10 lb
  • week 4 I was stuck with the same weight for a week until I started to workout more intentionally. No more fatigue/headaches.
  • week 5 I definitely feel reta not working as it used to be, I feel the cravings come back in 1.5/2 days instead of 3 days, less effective with current dose. Planning to titrate up soon.

I know that and I mix for that. I'm just curious the reasoning and not trying to be an ass.

We're all experimenting with this stuff after all, and 99% of experiment attempts end up looking silly in hindsight.
Makes sense. I guess I never looked at it from the experiment side. I just followed the protocol and to lose weight.

Jumped today on 4mg. Started from 1mg and titrating 1mg up every 3 weeks. So curious if the magic dose of reta (4mg) is a real deal, or just another urban legend 😉

I know everyone is different but I read a lot of posts where people start at low doses and don't need to titrate up that high of a dose.
I'm curious as to if people go all the way up to 12mg like in the clinical trials, if if they have reaped most benefits at lower doses.

So my question is:
How long have you been taking Reta for?
Where along are you in your journey?
What is your current dosage?
Never went above 2mgs and with working out and eating right I became the leanest I've ever been at 56 yrs old. I've been a gym rat for 40 yrs and always ate clean.

Started the 9mg ride this morning on 2 BFF R60's I reconstituted on Thursday with 3ml Hospira.Getting caught up on Friday shots. We went away last Thursday, so missed the last Friday 8mg, but pinned Monday morning. Next week will be Saturday, then the following back to Friday mornings. So a 6 day shot deal. My wife was confused, but that's to be expected.
In other news, got tracking on the WW R140 and on Zeus 3-R30.

Saw that popping off, ought to be exciting for the buyers.
I'm 15betting there's going to be some really good reta going stale in the next 90 days in some cases. 😆
Fact on the R140 taking a shit. I'm going to do 1 vial at a time. 6ml BAC, 3ml reconstituted into a 10ml vial, then another 3ml BAC into that. 9mg pins will be 15 doses out of the vial at 9mg. Two of us pulling 9mg which is 8 weeks for both, acceptable. I heard they're overfilled like mad, so I'll need that test info before I don anything with it,

Training Mon-Fri in the morning (fasted, weight training). No prior GLP-1 use — Reta is my first.

Week 1: Started with 0.5mg. One day after the first injection I could hardly eat anything at all — felt full after two bites. Stayed like this for about 3 days, then gradually got better.

Week 2: Bumped to 0.75mg. Realized after the injection that my syringe had a larger dead volume than expected — probably only got around 0.4mg in. Same effects as the first dose, plus some mild fatigue and light GI symptoms, but nothing extreme. Food noise has been gone consistently since the first injection.

Week 3: Took 0.75mg yesterday with the correct syringe (low dead volume this time). So far so good. I can manage 1400-1800 kcal a day with around 150g of protein, but for the first 2-3 days after each injection I have to force-feed myself a bit 😉

Honestly surprised by how strong the effects are at such low doses. The complete disappearance of cravings and food noise especially caught me off guard — didn't expect that from 0.5mg as a GLP-1 newbie.

Started 9mg yesterday, zero side effects except the damn sleep thing. I usually get bedtime heart burn, but nothing.

Another option might be to add cagri to your stack. Im on 2.5mg a week w/ reta and the food noise isn't there but i do think about food more than i used to.

thinkings of adding cagri but ive heard to start VERY VERY low doses.

4 weeks at 2mg
4 weeks at 4mg
Just did first week at 5mg. First time I have had the don't-want-to-even-look-at-food feeling since the first couple days of the first week. Goal is to stay around 4-6 indefinitely, then back down to 2mg as I approach goal weight. We will see.

Now i'm thinking I should move to 5mg too. I would like that feeling again. I still cant decide whether to stack tirz or cag, maybe I should just go to 5mg reta first.

5mg sucked ass. We did one 5mg shot after 6-4mgs. Did 6-6mgs and was good till the last two then nothing. Last 2-6mg it where the sleep issues started and the weight loss stopped. One pin at 7mg, nope. Went to 8mg, did 5-8mg. That was a good one, but OMG, my sleep was brutally bad and stalled a little. Just started 9mg Sunday, and I can tell already, we should've gone to 10mg. These 1mg increased just aren't working in my wives or my plan. I'll do 1 more 9mg, and likely go to 10mg.

100% agree - it’s seriously pretty tiring to encounter that. Getting interrogated and having to exhaustively prove you’re putting in the work before you can get past the CICO platitudes to gain some real insights and advice gets old fast.

Reddit is just the absolute worst in that regard. I’m pretty grateful this community exists as an alternative.

Based on advice here I started looking into Thyroid health factors, my supplements, and some of my previous bloodwork, and doing more research - and it started to help me really understand how big of a hole I was in with the combo of age, obesity and a years of a sedentary lifestyle.

I’m extremely happy to say that it’s all paying off and the hard workouts are now accelerating the weight loss on top of the reta (now down 15lbs and on my 4th dose at 6mg). It’s to the point where I’m now monitoring my average weight loss per week to make sure it isn’t moving way too fast.
Congrats on figuring out the right formula for you. And how smart of you not to get carried away with perhaps unhealthy amounts of weight loss all at once. We have the time to do this thoughtfully and at a pace our bodies can handle well.

Makes sense. I also started at 1mg but am about 100 pounds overweight and personally should have started higher.
It's so much easier to add than subtract on the dosage. We can't really predict how sensitive we'll be to the meds. Taking more than we can comfortably handle, at least right away, can create a real bummer of a few days.

wk 1-4 : 1mg
wk 5-8 : 2mg
wk 9-12 : 3mg
wk 13-16 : 4mg
wk 17-20 : 5mg
wk 21 - 22 : 6mg - broke my 4wk rule for the first time
wk 23 : 8mg (6mg + 2mg) - going rogue. go big or go home

Total : 80mg of reta over a course of 23 weeks
Weight loss : zero
Weight gain : zero

I will be switching to cagri soon as the food noise on high dose reta has taken over my life.
Wow, that's gotta be disappointing. How did switching to cag go? Have you thought of trying tirz for food noise suppression? I wish you luck (and patience!) finding the right formula for you.

I'm curious why you chose reta for food noise. You might find tirz works better for that, rather than increasing reta.

Thank you. All I have is patience, as you can see; I stayed on reta for six months despite severe daily gastrointestinal side effects and no benefit at all.

I already had a feeling it wasn’t going to work for me because my family has a history of severe insulin resistance leading to serious complications and early death. That’s why I chose to try a GLP-1 and stuck with it, even though I wasn’t losing any weight. I really had nothing to lose.

I didn’t pin reta again after that post. I also stopped cagri after one pin because it couldn’t override the food noise reta was creating, even at 1 mg.

Over the next few weeks, I lost 12 lbs. Some of it was probably water, but definitely not all of it.

I waited for everything to wash out of my system and pinned 250 mcg of cagri today. I can actually feel it working now that the reta is almost gone from my system.

Not only that, but a lot of other peptides that weren’t working before are now performing well. I’m also no longer experiencing ISR from GHK-Cu.

I’m happy to be off reta, and I won’t be considering any GLP-1s in the future.
