People trying Eloralintide, Cagrilintide etc. - what are your reasons?

Just curious what your thought process was in picking these, over the more conventional sema, tirz or reta.
 
5mg Reta currently, and low dose Cag keeps the RT mgs down. I literally couldn't digest a meal without throwing up at .5 Cag, back down to .2 now. I think its a great one-two punch, but it is a bit of a tight rope walk, and quite unforgiving if you get it wrong.
 
On 15mg tirz plus 5mg of reta, cannot increase dose of either as skin sensory weirdness gets much worse with tiny dose increases. Trying to maintain weight loss of 55%, added in 0.25mg every 4 days of cagri to see if it helps, causes mild nausea, but less hunger, not sure if it is better or worse like that. Elora sounds like a good option instead seeing as I seem to be pretty sensitive to nausea from cagri.
 
I’ve ordered a few kits of eloralinitide just to have in case I want to try it or someone I know wants it. I think all the meat heads have been waiting for this particular drug for weight loss due to the amylin receptor. It’s suppose to be huge for keeping and retaining muscle. That definitely excites me as well since I’m in my 60s. I definitely want to keep all the muscle I can.

I am just on tirz...I have reta, sema and cagril...not sure about eloralintide...Might get some if the price comes down...I don't have a lot of weight to go...Started at 223, down to 204. I'd like to get to 190. So not a big range, not a lot to go...but my stash is all about maintaining. I think I am set with the tools that are in the tool box now and can mix it up to tamp down and not bounce...

See when i saw it start being talked about i just looked around and said. So its cag+ for reta money? I feel like the market as a whole didnt roll out the right peps in the right order. Like anything past reta seems kinda uninteresting at best and just as good at worse. With no new interesting positives. Its got another name that sounds like a classic country singers name. Kinda iphone update vibes. Wake me up when quint agonist comes along and someone poops out a solid log of fat the size of a toddler..

I added cagri to break a stall I was having on 20mg of tirzepatide. And will likely transition to elora at some point (I have a couple of kits in the freezer). It wasn’t in response to lack of appetite supression on tirzepatide. If it was truly appeptite, I think a small stack of sema would be more effective for me.

The “cool” thing about cagri and elora is that these amylin agonists work through a mechanism that is distinct from the glp1/gip/glucagon pathways. And that the amylin pathways provide additive weightloss, that’s big. The areas where these medications affect the brain are also different, so cagri/elora have different saiety and feelz.

The two use cases I see for amylin agonists are:
  • For those unable to tolerate or are unresponsive to sema, tirz, or reta as a replacement
  • For those who stall on one of the above as an adjunctive

I'm on week 6 of 500mcg of cagri and the main side effect that I've had is fatique. It was super extreme the first week, but has gotten better over time. Many people don't experience the fatigue. I've had absolutely no GI sides from cagri.

Haven't tried elora yet, but got a couple of kits in the freezer. But from the clinical studies and recent anectdotal accounts, the sides are much less severe since elora is a more targeted amylin agonist. Cagri also affects the calcitonin receptors, which researchers think is leading to the excess side effects.

I will say that cagri has an entirely different feel for me than tirz or sema (in an excellent way). While tirz and sema make the food noise diminished for me, cagri eliminates the concept of food for me.
 
I have lost 41% of my starting weight 336 to 198. It’s been a three year journey that started with micro dose Sema. At this point I have tried Sema, Cagri, Tirz, Reta and currently use A Reta/ Sema stack that is working well. I hope to hit 190. Then keep my weight n the 190-200 range. I will try the new kid on the block if ever needed. The main reason for changing or stacking was reaching max dose/ stalling for long periods.

Congratulations! 41% is freaking awesome.

I started at almost the same weight (335lbs) and I was at 210 this morning. My goal is 205 and I'm about 1.5 years since I started, knowing that you've continued to lose weight by stacking is great news. I've been using various stacks too.

Curious if you had side effects on Tirz? Listened to a podcast recently where a doctor said he suspects people who have experienced side effects on a GLP will have them with Cagri, too, but also vice versa - no side effects on Tirz, less likely to experience any at all on Cagri.

When I first started tirzepatide I had headaches and blurry vision, but that went away. No upper GI sides ever on tirz, sema or cagri. The main GI side I've had is constipation. I'm on daily miralax for that. My sleep is trash, but my sleep was never good.

I've been debating if my fatigue is due to not eating enough on cagri. But I really don't think that's it. I think is the medication. It happened to me again a couple of night ago, where it wasn't exactly nodding off, it was like my brain shutting off. The fatigue was in my mind, not my body. Totally different then when you're tired from not sleeping well or a day of working in the yard.
 
I'm on my third week of cagrilintide, I have been taking tirz since feb and am already up to 10mg and didn't really want to increase just because of break through food noise it has been working great. I took my 3rd dose yesterday and have really been dealing with a stomache ache today can't eat. Maybe it finally caught up with me lol but this is the first time I have had any kind of bad feelin from anything.
 
I went up to 10mg Tirz/6D over 4 months, and started picking up the usual symptoms; tinnitus, prickly skin/allodynia, so I didn't want to raise the Tirz dose any more. Dropped 40 lbs in that time. Then big month-long plateau.

I added Cagrilintide at 500mcg/6D. No change, no effect. Added Retatrutide at 1mg/6D (each staggered 2D), minimal change. Raised up to 1mg Cag, 2mg Reta, minimal change.

Finally raised up to 2mg Cagri/6D, and Reta 4mg/6D, finally with the 12mg Tirz/6D. That did it, weight loss is moving again. But wow, those first 2 nights after the ramp up in dosage, the skin sensitivity/borderline pain was the first time I ever thought about stopping Peptides since starting 7 months ago.

Things have gotten marginally better and I'm not contemplating stopping this experiment outright. Maybe I've set 2 ambitious of a goal? I started at BMI 40.0, and the target now is <30.0 BMI (so from Morbid Obesity to the high end of just "overweight, and not "obesity"). I didn't think that was asking too much.

I will admit that I've moved the goal 3x since starting. I was managing expectations, but it's worked so well I've kept moving the goalposts to get closer to a healthy weight. Currently 7lbs from what I believe is the final goal/BMI 29.something.

How's the 20mg of Tirz treating you? I was thinking of moving up to 20mg, too, since I have been on 15mg for months and my loss rate is still 0.5lbs/week, on good weeks. (And yes, with a BMI of 48 (69 F), I should be having a greater loss.

There was a thread about someone being granted access to reta, and there was a comment on banning people making political comments. I thought that the fact that that person and that issue was being discussed on fairly major sites like ars technica meant that making a comment would not be an issue, but apparently I was wrong. I am a bit unhappy about it as I was participating on this forum quite a bit , and it is the only forum I have ever been involved with. No response to emails, so I have to start again.
 
I'm considering switching my Survo with something else. I'm down to 126, and in the last couple of months, I'm convinced it's all stopped working. I've upped my tirz twice, and am currently at 12.5 mg; and 3 mg on the survo. The scale isn't budging because I'm snacking without actual control. Like, if I know it's there, and I want it, I'm GOING to eat it.

It's dumb panic-thought; you don't maintain a 60 pound weight loss and just walk around between 126 and 128 pounds if your tirz has stopped working. I lost 32 percent of my starting weight, so I beat the trials. But I so badly want to see 121. I won't go below that, pinky-swear, but I want to get there, and I just CAN'T seem to. so I might swap the survo for one of the new ones.

As shocking as this may sound, Ars Technica does not set GLP-1 Forum rules and policies.

No politics means no politics.

I'm using 5mg Reta as my base (with good results), with the backup option of using a low dose of Cagrinitide (as required) if I need some extra food noise supression every now an again. Mainly when lots of social events are on the calendar and I need that little bit extra help to refrain from unhealthy food options.

I'm thinking about adding cagri to help with appetite on cuts. I really like the overall effects of reta, but the appetite suppression leaves something to be desired. I'm currently taking 8mg a week for maintenance. On bulks (currently on one) I drop it down to 2mg just to keep the insulin sensitivity but low enough to be able to eat a lot. But I'm going to start a pretty hard cut in about 10 weeks and thinking that adding in a bit of cagri might be better than increasing my reta even higher.
