Courtesy of the amazing Downsized series - which I've been watching for some time -
here's a fairly no BS breakdown of the status of the latest 15 sets of new Obesity drugs.

I've spotted more than a few among vendors already - it could be a very useful list for
forumites to absorb and keep a lookout for.

Here's the blurb for this specific episode...
In this episode of The Downsized, Christopher Durham takes a deep look at the 15 most important new obesity medications currently in development. Some could reach patients within the next year. Others are showing weight loss results approaching 30% in clinical trials. There are new weekly injections, monthly injections, oral medications, amylin-based therapies, triple agonists, and treatments specifically being developed for people living with obesity and related conditions like MASH (fatty liver disease). Christopher breaks down the science, the clinical trial results, the FDA timelines, and what each medication could mean for real patients trying to treat the disease of obesity.Featured medications include:• CagriSema• Retatrutide• Survodutide• MariTide• VK2735• Mazdutide• Amycretin• Petrelintide• Eloralintide• PF-3944• Pemvidutide• And more. The future of obesity treatment is changing rapidly. The next five years could bring more new obesity medications than the previous two decades combined. But the biggest question remains: Will patients actually be able to afford them? About The Downsized Christopher and Laraine Durham have lost more than 150 pounds using GLP-1 medications and share their experiences as patients treating the disease of obesity. The Downsized covers obesity medicine, GLP-1 medications, weight loss research, healthcare policy, patient advocacy, and the latest industry news.We are not doctors. Nothing in this video should be considered medical advice. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting, stopping, or changing any medication.

I might check this out later. Not enough time this morning.

Wow, it's insane. I can't believe there are so many upcoming weight loss drugs. But truth be told, I don't think at this point it will affect me now because I already found what works for me. A good maintenance dose of reta and cagri absolutely kick hunger's ass and is all I need for insane appetite suppression and weight loss. But still, it is nice to hear that there are some upcoming stuff. Who knows, in the next 5 to 10 years, there could be something ridiculously insane. Looking forward to witness the unfolding of these drugs!

A guy who blogs about GLP drugs and related stuff is at the ADA Conference this week. He'll be posting about the sessions he attends. Since he's keenly interested in this area I'm sure he'll discuss a lot of these new drugs.

An interesting blog -- I have subscribed.
Thank you.

I think the last frontier should be related to drugs that can effectively target white fat cells (by target I mean killing it for good), like FTTP, but safer, alongside Glp1, that would be the best of both worlds. I've lost a lot of weight with Tirze and Reta but I think that I'll have to keep taking it from time to time to maintain.

Curious what specifically cagri does for you that reta doesn't? Thank you!

Agreed. I'm in maintenance and I have a significant hoard of peptide combinations that work for me. It would have to be a cure rather than a treatment for me to switch at this point.

Looking back to when I started I never, ever would have considered grey market peptides if EL had priced Tirz reasonably. But, now that I have had access to the wide world of peptides I just don't see myself going back to expensive big pharma mono-therapies.

I applied for the Corbus Pharmaceuticals weight loss study in my area a few months ago. It involved THCV. It's supposed to curb cravings. It was being studied to take along with a GLP-1 drug to make it more effective. I didn't weigh enough to get into the study ☹️ I bought some of the product online tho. Its effect seems very subtle to me. Maybe I'm not taking strong enough dose. 🤷‍♀️

Damn
war on fatty is real !
war on non draftable fighting age men and birthing age women. Obesity is a common roadblock of both. I speculate turning a blind eye to the small guys and smacking anyone who gets too big for their bathtub is a controlled way of maintaining the status quo.

The thing is, I did not actually need it to use cagri at all because reta does everything for me. I just wanted to simply try it out as an experiment, but what I am seeing now is my food hunger and appetite suppression and food noise is exactly the same as it was before. And before, it was non-existent, and with the addition of cagri, it is still non-existent. But now, I am seeing more gastric delaying than when I was simply just on reta. So I just added cagri just to see what it feels like. And I don't really need it, but I think I'm gonna still stay on it because it helps get you full even quicker now. I'm not even kidding when I say this, in like literally 5 or 6 bites, I could stop eating and be satisfied. But then that's not smart because I know I will have low energy in the future. So if you really wanna cut down on your calories, cagri + reta is insane for satiety and promotes that feeling of fullness to a whole new level, but then it slows down the digestion process to a crawl where food just sits in your stomach and then your bowel movements are extremely slow and you're feeling full and never hungry 247.

Yup, exactly. No point in getting it from the legitimate source when gray market is considerably cheaper and it also made me go down a deep rabbit hole and I guess you too as well, because now we are on a whole laundry list of peptides. And a lot of us got the weight loss peptides that'll last us for years to come. So in case something ever happens with the supply in the gray market, we're good for a while.

(Caveat: Lizzo has said some pretty weird things that made me unfollow her, however…)

I know nobody owes us a particular type of body, and I’m certainly not going to shame anyone for pursuing health, but it makes me a little sad that we’re losing heavy, sexy celebrities and the message that you can be hot at any size. Honestly, her music and late 2010s message made me feel so confident that I could be big n’ sexy too. I mean I AM and always have been 😉 but that I could be accepted by the world as such…it meant a lot.

And at the same time now that I’m on my way to achieving fitting in straight sizes for good (not just the finite period of time where I’m grinding hard and white-knuckling ) and that it’s actually possible, I’m excited about it. I’m not a joiner, definitely a weirdo, but the social currency of thinness…it’s hard to ignore.

Nicely stated...Everyone's journey deserves respect, especially from us...From what I have read from you Cat, I am proud of what you have done... 👍

I am not sure I am a prospect for anything new/wizbang...I am old and everything I have now does exactly what it is supposed to do. I have a stash of tirz/reta that will almost certainly exceed my most optimistic life span...I could disconnect from the interwebs completely so as not to have to dwell on anything new and my health/wellness program would still be elite...

I am amazed that all this progress is coming on in leaps and bounds and truly hope it reshapes (pun intended 😎) the world...👍

There has been much in the news about the end of "body positivity", the fact is that so many enjoy the benefits of methods that actually work. Lizzo at one point was an outspoken "body Positive" celebrity, from what I understand.

It is the south park joke I was referring to, where the Dr prescribes listening to Lizzo 5x a day for body positivity, because Cartman could not afford GLP1s.
In no way did I mean it as a personal attack on her, her personality (which honestly I had never heard of her), or her body.

The episode used her as an example as body positive. I also read that South Park stated they would no longer make those types of jokes after. (a big deal because they tear into everyone).

SIDE NOTE:
When looking for the image there were many articles where she "admitted" to trying GLP!s but they made her feel bad and she had to use other methods.

She does look like a different person!
