Kept weight off after getting off GLP-1?

I had to stop Mounjaro after 6 months. Eating about the same and hope to keep weight. I have been told you can eat pretty much nothing and still gain all the weight back? I would think if you stay low calorie you can maintain?

You can maintain by keeping your calories at or below what you need per day. It will just be harder without Mounjaro curbing your appetite and slowing down your digestion.

I think the weight regain is mainly because people can’t usually maintain without the assistance of glp1s. Otherwise we would have done so the first hundred diets we were on. 😉

@JoeyK74 in all seriousness, most people do regain when stopping, but it doesn't mean it's guaranteed. Weight won't just magically appear on you. You will have a say in this.

Figure out your tdee using a tdee calculator and try to stay below the calorie count it gives you, most days. Keep your protein up and exercise. Find low calorie snacks that you enjoy. You can be one of the 10% of people who maintain their loss. Good luck!

The folks who work in labs will disagree about tirzepatide having much of an effect on how many calories you burn. The problem, I suspect, is that when you're hungry, you'll misjudge that calories you're eating.

GLP-1s don't break the laws of thermodynamics. If you eat at or below your energy expenditure levels, you will maintain or lose weight.

No one is going to "eat basically nothing" and gain weight back, but people are horrendous at understanding how much food they actually consume. You might want to use an app like macrofactor to help understand what is happening with your food intake and energy expenditure.
