Hi guys, I am 53 years young and in pretty good shape for an old guy. 🙂 I lift, ruck, run, hike, and dabble in other sports like tennis and pickleball. A few years back while loosing some weight I did some research on GLP's, but my real peptide journey started about 4 months ago after I tore a rotator cuff in 2 separate areas while lifting. While searching for information about rotator cuff rehab, surgery, etc. I came across BPC 157. Game changer. I did BPC 157 & TB 500 for a 3 month cycle combined with physical therapy and managed to heal up without surgery. That started me down the rabbit hole and I recently have started on Tesamorelin and Ipamorelin and plan on adding GHK-CU next week. Grateful to be hear to learn and help further my journey. Any LSU baseball fans here? Geaux Tigers!
 
Wanted to add a little more to my story to complete it so you guys know more about me. I said in my first post a few years ago while loosing "some" weight I did research on GLP's. That was 3 years ago and at that time I decided GLP's were cheating and was worried about side effects. Being a new guy here I decided not to originally post that because I didn't want to offend anyone. My opinion on that has changed, so please don't hold it against me. Anyway I beat the odds. I was successful in losing the weight in 1 year without a GLP and have since keep it off for 2 years. I am hoping that the Tesa and Ipa I am currently talking will also help with some stubborn belly that I never lost. The "some" weight that I lost was 96 pounds. Due to that I have become pretty educated on diet and nutrition and would gladly answer any questions related to that. Glad to meet you guys.

It is not unusual for someone, or many, to think that any diet solution besides "the hard way" is cheating. I look at it like this: Some people need glasses to see, some don't: is it cheating to wear corrective lenses?

I'm glad you are going to let the crazy doctors, with their new fangled medicines, help you.

Thanks Skidude, 100% agreed now. GLP's are just another tool in the toolbox. I started my wife on Reta a few weeks ago. You hear it all the time, losing weight is a lifestyle change. I think people often miss that point. I lost and gained right back a few times before I learned that and was able to keep it off.
 
Another metaphor I like: Do you want to drive from LA to NYC, or would you rather fly?

But there are tons of studies that show the human body engages in biological warfare against weight loss over the long term. That's why GLPs are such a gamechanger.

Even being able to stick to the same diet or gym for years is biology unless there are environmental overrides, and only a subset of us will not regain weight after stopping GLPs.

Agreed. That's why it's so important to understand the car you are driving from LA to New York in. If you don't address your bad eating habits and your relationship with food you will definitely gain it back. Some people are just not ready to do that.

And they also help with inflammation, including in the brain.

But to your point, the GLPs, by giving so much hope, can help undo years of so-called "learned helplessness."

Although there is an argument for nutrition, diet, and exercise; those things are not always dealing with the core issue.

People get heavy for many reasons, some psychological, some physiological, and some environmental.

We are all so different and if diet and exercise got you to lose 96lbs that is awesome, but some folks need more. I think it is easy to fall into the trap of wanting everyone to know your program because it worked for you, but there really isn't a one size fits all, and many of us intend to use glps indefinitely.

I have a spreadsheet of every calorie consumed for the last 9 months, that's my program and with the help of a few peptides it worked for me.

Take the car or take the plane, just get yourself to NYC 🙂
 
It's also easier to exercise when you don't eat more as a result.
At 1200 calorie a day, i found it hard to do many things, i think you can get tired if you are not fueling properly. I can only imagine if I wasn't watching protein, good fat, fiber, nutrients.
But I also think that gatekeeping or "questioning" another persons method can be a slippery slope.
I have been surprised, a few times, to see what I felt like was sound advice and it resulted in many members being upset.

100% and that is my point. You have to change your relationship with food prior to letting the GLP change it for you or you likely will gain it back. You have to figure out your causation for overeating and being over weight. For me it was a combination of grief from my dad passing, eating addictive highly processed foods, and binge eating. My binge eating was caused by eating to few calories and / or eating something like cookies and then saying F it, I already failed just keep going. From what I see most people plan on being on a GLP for life and if that's the case non of the above I said matters. Like you said there is no one size fits all in this game.

Either route you go to NYC is a 100 % huge win. I think we can all agree that doing anything to improve your life and longevity is all that matters.
