Gone grey!

Almost everyone seems to freeze tirz before recon, especially since a whole kit can be a year supply, depending on dosing and if it is T10 or T15 vs T60/120.

There really is no major advantage to refrigeration since colder is better to help maintain purity and sterility.
Do you take it straight out the freezer and add bac water or let it warm up first?

From Gemini:

Yes, it's generally recommended to let a vial of lyophilized powder of tirzepatide warm up to room temperature before reconstituting it with bacteriostatic water (BAC water).
Here's why this is a good practice:
* Prevents Temperature Shock: Adding cold BAC water to a room-temperature powder can cause temperature shock. This might affect the drug's stability or how well it dissolves.
* Ensures Proper Dissolution: Allowing the lyophilized powder to reach room temperature helps ensure it dissolves completely and correctly once you add the BAC water.
* Follows Manufacturer Guidelines: While specific instructions can vary, the general rule for many lyophilized medications is to let them warm up. For instance, some instructions for Mounjaro vials specifically tell you to "Remove the vial from the refrigerator" and allow it to warm up.
How to Do It
* Remove from Cold Storage: Take the vial out of the freezer or refrigerator.
* Allow to Warm: Let the vial sit at room temperature for a bit (e.g., 15-30 minutes, or as specified by any instructions you have) so it can reach the ambient temperature.
* Reconstitute: Once it's at room temperature, you can proceed with reconstitution using your BAC water. Remember to gently swirl the vial; don't shake it vigorously.
Important Considerations
* No Freezing After Reconstitution: While the powder is stored frozen, do not freeze reconstituted tirzepatide solutions. Freezing can damage the medication.
* Storage After Reconstitution: After you've mixed it, the solution typically needs to be kept in the refrigerator and has a limited shelf life. Always follow the specific instructions for your product.
* Always Check Specific Instructions: It's crucial to refer to the package insert or any instructions provided by your pharmacist or healthcare provider for the exact tirzepatide product you have. There might be slight variations.
Letting the vial warm up to room temperature before reconstituting with BAC water is a simple step that helps ensure the medication's stability and proper dissolution.

I store mine in a hydropeak container in my freezer. There is a maker space near me and I made the vial inserts everyone else is buying on Etsy.

When I’m ready to reconstitute, I take it out of the freezer for about 30 minutes. I reconstitute with hospira bacteriostatic water then filter it into a new sterile vial.

Let me know if you need links to anything or want to know more!

After it’s reconstituted I keep it in my fridge in a vial case- again something I 3D printed on my own for free.

I kept the bac water in my closet where it’s cool and more temperature regulated than other parts of my home.
