I have been on triz for about 7 weeks now first 4 weeks I lost 15 pounds now I am at a stall..... I might go up 1 pound and then down ....just flat problem is I know I am not eating much, I don't get hungry until around 3 or 4 and then a small amount fills me. I just started having protein shake every day to add more protein? Is this good or bad in anyone's experience? I am not really expecting to much nausea unless I force myself to eat. And with the protein shake it takes a couple hours. I am still on second step for dosing, also taking MOTS-c.

Hitting a stall around weeks 6-8 on Tirz is super common. Same thing happened to me when I first started. Your body’s probably adjusting after the quick drop at the start, so it doesn’t mean anything’s wrong per se. Adding in a protein shake is actually a great idea. Especially if you’re barely eating until 3 or 4, but you may need to force yourself to eat a little more food like you said. It sounds counterintuitive, but sometimes under-eating for too long can slow things down, especially metabolically. It doesn’t mean you need to eat full meals, but at least try to get more nutrients like from Greek yogurt or bone broth or nuts.

Since you mentioned still having strong appetite suppression, I don’t think you should go up to a higher dose. Just give it a couple of weeks of adding more protein and nutrients, drinking more water, and maybe doing some light exercise and see what happens! But congrats on the 15lbs lost already ✔️

This is very common. Personally, protein shakes make me bloat. I hold onto a few lbs of water. Most are just full of crap chemicals that are a gimmick ppl fall for. I would say stick to whole foods, real protein and give it a few weeks. If you have appetite suppression to the point you say do not go up in dose yet. Wait to increase dose for when you actually need it. It is not always about the scale. Sometimes our bodies are making adjustments internally. Also, take measurements. Some weeks you will not see the scale move but your measurements will see the change. Try your best to be patient.

I found some that are bone both based and pea and oat protein, I have not tried the bone broth based ones yet but reviews looked good. But agree most protein powders are just junk. I try to get organic and real ingredients. I also am going to try the oats overnight again. And I know Greek yogurt is good. Thank you.

Thank you this is great advice, I tend to be picky about protein when I get it, sticking to organic and pea or oat protein. Found a bone based one I am going to try. I had done intermittent fasting for a couple years, did have weight loss on that but did not stay disciplined enough to do it long term, lasted about 5 months. Thanks for response and advice.

When your appetite is severely restricted by GLP1 use (like mine was) drinking a protein shake helps ensure you are getting enough protein to help retain muscle mass, which is often lost/reduced by using GLP1s.

Protein shakes are not all equal. Look for one with quality protein like Casein or Whey protein isolate. For example, Premier Protein shakes use milk protein concentrate, a cheap protein source which easily converts to glucose, spiking blood sugar levels (I tested and proved this with a Continuous Glucose Monitor). Casein is a slower-digesting protein than whey isolate (6-8 hours vs 2-3) which keeps you feeling fuller longer. Also the slow release of glucose from the breakdown of casein does not cause as rapid a spike in blood sugar.

Both these proteins sources come from milk which contains lactose. If you are lactose intolerant this can cause bloating. Just take a lactaid type supplement to prevent this from occurring.

Thank you, I will take a closer look at this. Love all this advice.

Good information from Zanny above. I encountered a stall during the same period as well. The weight loss resumed. Down almost 70 pounds from December 24. Stay the course. I always made it a goal for 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. I still do. Be it from shakes and or whole foods. I prioritize protein sources above all else. I did eventually add in about 150 g of carbs a day as well. Being in a deficit and really limiting carbs had me feeling like a corpse. Good luck !

I used to think that was crazy and hard, but it is easy with the 42g shakes and is satiating for stalls.
They even have 100g protein shakes (mother-in-law was given this daily while in hospital recovering from surgery). Haven't found a source yet but I'm looking. Protein shakes are invaluable when your appetite is reduced - easier to drink a shake then to try to eat a full hamburger or steak.
