Hi šŸ‘‹šŸ» I’m Beard0! I’m a 33F living in Roanoke, VA with PCOS/Hashimoto’s, riddled with ADHD and a touch of the tism. I’ve struggled with my weight for most of my life.

My experience with GLP-1 medications started about two years ago with Mounjaro. I was on it for eight months and titrated up to 15mg, but eventually had to stretch out the time between injections due to the nationwide shortages. At one point, I was taking 15mg one month, skipping a month, and then doing another round of 15mg. At the time, I did not know that high doses shouldn’t be spaced out like that and that restarting the titration process is typically recommended. During this time, I also experienced two episodes of sharp, fluctuating pain on my right side. After testing, my doctors luckily found that my gallbladder and pancreas looked fine, aside from a mildly fatty liver. They couldn’t pinpoint a cause and ultimately chalked it up to trapped gas. In the end, I decided to stop taking Mounjaro and since then, I’ve slowly regained the 40 pounds I had lost.

I’m now considering trying GLP-1s again—because aside from those two episodes, the medication really helped with both my PCOS and ADHD symptoms, among other things. I’ve recently learned about Retatrutide and I am hoping to learn more about peptides in general. Im hoping this forum can help me do just that!

Welcome! So why wouldn't you just go back on Mounjaro? Shortages are over and the brand name suggests it may have been prescribed and covered by insurance?

Unfortunately my insurance decided to stop covering it and it wasn’t affordable to keep purchasing it out of pocket. This is of course before I started learning about peptides and the whole gray market.

Ah, I see. Another victim of big pharma and insurance being unwilling to play nice to actually help people. Welcome! Lots to learn here. Happy reading!
